What diagnoses would call for compression socks?
Compression socks and stockings are useful for various medical conditions including edema, deep vein thrombosis, phlebitis, lipodermatosclerosis, leg ulcers, and lymphedema. At Fittings For You, we offer reliable compression socks and mastectomy bras to support these needs.
Why are compression hose and garments necessary?
Compression garments are important because they help improve blood circulation, reduce swelling, and support the healing process. They are commonly used to manage conditions like varicose veins, lymphedema, and post-surgical recovery. By applying gentle, graduated pressure, these garments help prevent fluid buildup and promote better movement and comfort throughout the day.
Why do I need to be fitted after a mastectomy?
Being professionally fitted after a mastectomy is essential to ensure that any prosthesis or post-surgical garment fits comfortably and provides the right support. A proper fit helps restore body balance, improves posture, and enhances confidence. It also reduces the risk of discomfort or skin irritation and ensures that the garment or prosthesis functions as intended during recovery.
Why is it important to buy medical-grade supplies rather than over-the-counter?
Medical-grade supplies are held to higher standards for safety, quality, and effectiveness compared to over-the-counter products. They are often made with more durable materials, tested for clinical use, and recommended by healthcare professionals. Using medical-grade products ensures that you receive the proper support or treatment for your condition, which can lead to better health outcomes.
Why are the costs of medical products so expensive?
Medical products tend to be expensive due to the high costs associated with research, development, and regulatory approval. These products must meet strict safety and quality standards, which adds to manufacturing expenses. Additionally, the healthcare system's complexity, including insurance and administrative costs, often contributes to higher prices for consumers.
