Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I’m always treated kindly and I’ve had more education from pharmacists than I’ve had at other pharmacies. Really pleased

This Dillons Pharmacy has been terrible for someone with allergies. The cashier staff are very pleasant. The pharmacists are largely unhelpful or rude. I've been going to Dillons for my prescriptions for two years now and they cannot seem to grasp the concept of allergies at all. I had issues with them giving me medications with lactose in it multiple times now. The first time, I found out that having a "dairy" allergy does not flag for lactose and they were giving me medication with lactose in it. The second time, I was extremely sick and vomiting and having allergic reactions. I called the pharmacist to ask what was going on and they said they switched my medication over to a formula with lactose in it and didnt tell me. After that incident, I have asked every time I pick up a prescription if my prescriptions have lactose in and I get a shrug and "it should be fine". The pharmacists seem personally offended by my food allergy that could kill me. Recently, I had a UTI and tried to pick up antibiotics. They told me that had a question about the dosage to my provider and told ME to call my provider and to come back later. I had to come back 4 hours later, to find out it was not the dosage, it was that the pill did not come dairy free without lactose. This pharmacist was pleasant but he asked if "I wanted to try it anyway because my doctor said I had it before". If I was a dumb person, yeah sure, I'll risk my life for this UTI. I told him that I had it before my allergy developed. He then said that I would have to call my provider myself. I have a UTI and I'm expected to do their job for them. Unfortunately I will have to switch pharmacies as this pharmacy is regularly trying to poison me.

Dillons pharmacy at 22nd and Fairlawn has kind and caring people working there. Everyone I have dealt with is knowledgeable, polite and goes above and beyond to find a cheaper price thru their Blink or Single Care if my copay with insurance is too high for me to afford. They have even given me smaller amounts of a prescription so that it is more affordable. I have nothing bad to say about them and their pharmacists have even worked with me on some of my meds that are having shortages to contact other Dillons pharmacy’s and even other stores , very time consuming for them but this is great customer service and for the pharmacist theirselves to take this on speaks highly of their customer service.

Unlike the rest of this store, the pharmacy is actually well run with competent employees who actually focus on the purpose of a pharmacy: prescriptions.
