We have had an amazing experience with Dr. Danielle's Developmental Services. Danielle and Chrissy are both incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and caring. They took the time to truly understand our child's unique needs and creates therapy sessions that are engaging, fun, and effective. We've seen so much growth in our child's confidence, emotional regulation, and daily living skills. The communication with our family has been excellent, and we always leave with strategies we can use at home. We are so grateful for the support our family has received and highly recommend Dr. Danielle's Developmental Services to anyone looking for exceptional pediatric occupational therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dr. Danielle's Developmental Services
How are services paid for?
Dr. Danielle's Developmental Services is in-network with BCBS and Kansas Medicaid programs, including Healthy Blue, KanCare Community, and Sunflower, for occupational therapy services. Private pay options are available, and we can provide superbills for families seeking out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance carriers.
Do I need a referral?
BCBS typically does not require a referral for our services. Medicaid programs generally do require one. If you're pursuing out-of-network reimbursement, contact your insurance company to confirm whether pre-authorization is needed, understand your annual session limits and deductible, and learn where to submit out-of-network claims.
What does the process look like?
Once you complete the intake forms, Dr. Danielle will schedule an evaluation customized to your child's needs. The evaluation typically includes detailed questions with caregivers and observation of your child during play. A follow-up meeting will be scheduled to review evaluation results and discuss goals or any additional assessments. One of the occupational therapy providers at DDDS will then implement the plan of care.
What does a typical session look like?
You'll bring your child to the clinic and can either remain in the waiting room or accompany them into the session. Sessions are generally one hour long, though this may vary depending on your child's needs. Caregivers are always welcome to be present. Some children respond better with a caregiver in the room, while others benefit from independent participation. For children from birth to three years old, caregiver presence throughout the session is expected to maximize outcomes. Therapy sessions frequently incorporate play-based activities.
What age range do you serve?
Dr. Danielle's Developmental Services focuses primarily on pediatric care, serving children from birth through 17 years old and their families. We also provide services to adults 18 and older when appropriate for their specific needs.
Who are these services for?
Dr. Danielle's Developmental Services is designed for any child and family with questions, concerns, or a desire for developmental support. This may include verifying your child is meeting milestones and understanding next steps, addressing delays in walking, supporting handwriting development, improving social skills, building self-regulation abilities, addressing sensory concerns, or supporting overall development to help mitigate the impact of a diagnosis or disability. We address all developmental areas and offer parent coaching to help your child achieve their full potential.
What are some signs my child might benefit from OT?
Common indicators include struggles with handwriting or fine motor activities, challenges with dressing or using utensils, sensory sensitivities, difficulty managing emotions, issues with coordination or motor planning, trouble completing daily activities appropriate for their age, or difficulty participating successfully in home or school environments.
What should I bring to my child's first appointment?
Please bring your insurance information if applicable, any relevant medical or developmental records, school-related information, and paperwork from other providers. Most importantly, be ready to discuss what you're observing at home or school and what you'd like your child to accomplish.
How long will my child need occupational therapy?
The duration and frequency of therapy varies for each child. Treatment length depends on your child's specific needs, established goals, rate of progress, and ability to generalize skills into daily routines. We continuously track progress and modify the treatment plan as needed.
Will my insurance cover occupational therapy?
Coverage depends on your specific plan, your child's diagnosis, available benefits, authorization requirements, and additional factors. We're here to help you navigate the process, but families should verify benefits directly with their insurance provider for complete information.
