Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.
This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.
This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.
There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.
These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.
This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.
These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.
Physical & Wellness Screenings
Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.
When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.
Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I have consistently had poor customer service at this Derby location regarding my daughter’s prescriptions. One prescription was an OTC item and staff never notified me that it was OTC and after a projected one hour wait, we came to the pharmacy through the drive thru to be handed a paper copy of the prescription. When I asked if someone could grab the OTC item since my daughter was clearly upset in the back seat, I was told that was not their job and that I would have to come inside with my sick child to get it myself. Mind you, this is a OTC item commonly kept BEHIND the counter at many retail pharmacies for this reason. Recently, my daughter’s breathing treatment and oral steroid was sent to the pharmacy by accident and after they had the prescription for an hour, I once again came through the drive thru. I had to wait 10 minutes behind a women who got her prescription finished up while waiting in line and then I pulled up to the window, I was told my daughters two prescriptions would not be ready for another 45 minutes. Even after stating the importance of getting these medications as soon as possible so my daughter could breathe, the associate replied that there were other people ahead of her and that those prescriptions took priority over her. But if my daughter had visited the associated Little Clinic next door those same prescriptions would have been guaranteed to be done within 30 minutes of receiving them… please tell me how antibiotics for adults with no compromised airways take priority over a small child in need of a breathing treatment right away. Moral of the story: these people do not care for you. Do not fill here if you ever need true customer service, healthcare advice or assistance, or any basic needs for you or your family.

I’ve been using the Derby Dillon’s for many years. I called to have a prescription transferred as it was sent to them instead of my new pharmacy. A person named Caleb answered and immediately sounded irritated as if I was bothering them. I asked to transfer my prescription to the other Dillon’s I needed and he told me I would need to call them instead. I had the same issue last month but the person on the phone easily transferred my prescription without me needing to talk to the other Dillon’s pharmacy. Very disappointed, very poor workmanship.
