First I want to say Dr. Fraser deserves a 5-star review. She is really great.
Pearle Vision has very strange accounting practices and the customer has to pay what they estimate to be your portion up front. If there is an overpayment after the insurance has paid, they do NOT refund the money. Unless you ask for an itemized statement, they don't even tell you if you have a credit, and then you have to wait until the following year to get that credit applied. The amounts also do not match up.
I have been going to Pearle Vision for years, but the overpayment issue has really become a problem in the last couple of years, after going through the statements and my receipts.
I will not be going back to Pearle Vision, and I really hate losing Dr. Fraser, but I can't deal with their accounting methods anymore. I will be contacting corporate and appropriate agencies regarding the accounting and not refunding overpayments.

The staff and the ophthalmologist are very kind, accommodating, and respectful. It's a great place to have an eye checkup. They will guide and help you with all the paperwork, choosing glasses, and everything.

Well..wondering how they charge so much, do not have any lower priced frames (149.00) was cheapest, and exam cost me 40 bucks over insurance allowance..
Did not get glasses...will find somewhere else for that

The staff was nice but the service stinks. They literally want to charge you for absolutely everything.
First of all I do not believe the prescription is correct. I was interested in contacts so the put a pair of contacts on a table in the back with a mirror and lamp and walk away. Umm okay thanks. I finally manage to get them in and I cannot read with them. The doctor says she has 20/20 vision (while wearing glasses) and she can’t read the wording on the poster 3 1/2 ft away.
I couldn’t get the contacts out alone so I ask for help. She was very nice and probably spent 4 to 5 minutes directing me.
Once the contact was out I picked up my broken glasses and read that same poster that the doctor couldn’t read. My glasses are 3 years old and have begun to get a little blurry but okay.
They then state they show me how to put contacts in & out for $22. I can schedule a time to come back. We could get glasses ordered now. I declined stating I don’t believe this is the correct prescription and I want to have my eye doctor from Michigan do an eye exam.
This is when I find out they charged my insurance $120 for a “contact fitting” and I’m responsible for $60. What fitting? When I inquired about it I was told it was for her time. Seriously!! What’s this time you speak of? I am appalled by this. I have my previous prescription and this one. This office shows my eyes are better but I have slightly more problems with them. I am not okay with any of this. $60 for nothing. I have no prescription for contacts. No one spent any time per se with me. This is a money grab. I was also told that they did not charge me the $22 fee considering I did not want to go forward. Which is a lie. You can clearly see they did charge $22 for I & R training. I stated very clearly at check out I don’t want to schedule to be shown how to put contacts in and please make sure I am not being charged. The receptionist reassured me that I wasn’t. I had a bad feeling so I request a detailed print out and left. OF COURSE THEY CHARGED ME $22!!! So $142 for no contacts?!?! Not a chance!!
I will call insurance on Monday, schedule a new exam & speak with the BBB after that. SCAM
What a disappointment. I will leave this review on other platforms to warn others.
