Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Absolutely awful drive thru. There is no reason for someone to be sitting at the window for over 10 mins, with a line behind them. Pull people forward, especially during rush hour. And to have a tech in training running the drive thru at that during busy time is goofy. This should be common sense.

Every time I've had to refill my prescriptions it's a hassle. I'm specifically talking about the Waynedale branch. I have to go back and forth every time between my doctor and these guys. Then I'll call and ask if they're ready and they'll say yes, I'll get there and it's "oh we haven't gotten that ready yet" or "your doctor denied your prescription you need to call them first" Why was I not notified within the two weeks I sent my refill request in that it was denied? Every time I request a refill early I still end up running out of them and have to go without my pills for a few days because this pharmacy cannot communicate. My most recent visit ended with them swapping my pills for a different type, which I get they are the same but one has a placebo week and the one I take does not because I've been prescribed a certain schedule. I called about this and was told they did, in fact, have the type I have been prescribed ready, and when asked why they would switch it , they said "oh because it's basically the same thing, one just doesn't have the placebo week". I specifically have been prescribed ones with no placebo week per my doctor. They continued to fight with me that that wasn't my prescription, when I've got the old packets in my hand. Every interaction with this pharmacy has been nothing but frustrating and a waste of time. I just called them to tell them to cancel my prescriptions there and have them sent to the DuPont location. Phone staff was incredibly rude the entire conversation.

Went to the Dr on Tuesday, still waiting for prescriptions Thursday afternoon. It appears they need a bigger staff. Just want to mention Lyndsey is great. They are overworked and understaffed.

Not as friendly as other Kroger Phamacies but it's OK. I love Jayda one of the pharmacists. She is always professional and makes us feel welcomed.
