Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.
This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.
This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.
There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.
These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.
This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.
These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.
Physical & Wellness Screenings
Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.
When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.
Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I’m giving this pharmacy 1 star because it’s randomly closed more days than it seems to be open.
I’ll update my review to add 1 star for every-time I go to pick up medication and the pharmacy is actually open and detract 1 every time I go to pick up medication and it’s closed. I don’t imagine we’ll ever get above 3 stars from my past experience. Stay tuned.

I’ve had my prescriptions filled here for the past 7 months and I moved and switched to the Jay c pharmacy in Charlestown where they informed me my insurance isn’t in network and hasn’t been for the entire time I’ve been getting them filled there. But the pharmacy technicians at Highlander point didn’t care to tell me my insurance was never accepted by them. They just took my money this whole entire time.

Love this pharmacy and am always amazed with how they are able to move so many people through the line so quickly. Everyone I have ever talked to has been pleasant and gone out of their way to be helpful. The pharmacists are top notch and work so hard. The techs are all very knowledgeable and work so fast.

Medicine was supposed to be done days ago and we had to wait longer and it still wasn’t done and both the person working the window and the pharmacist were really rude I am surprised they aren’t fired because of how many bad reviews they have mentioning them. It was going to take like thirty minutes to get my cousins medicine when she was really sick and couldn’t do anything. Should be able to put zero stars

As others have pointed out, this pharmacy has gotten bad about not being able to fill prescriptions in a timely manner. They are 2 for 2 on my most recent prescriptions on not being able to fill them for a few days. Both of mine are very common with millions of people taking them. Why they have to have them shipped in is mind boggling. One prescription took 4 days. I’m probably done with this store. Next batch or refills are going to Walmart in Corydon. Further drive, but pointless to keep going here if they take days to complete a commonly prescribed order.
