Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Delivery drivers are kindly requested to exercise caution when delivering late at night. Over the past four years, I have encountered multiple issues involving individuals loitering in the dock area. These individuals have attempted to gain access to my truck. The store lacks adequate lighting in the rear area, a fact that has been communicated to them for four years. While the current store manager, Scott, is aware of this issue, no corrective measures have been implemented. The assistant manager finally contacted me in March, assuring me that the lighting would be fixed. However, as of June, no progress has been made in addressing this matter. If your truck is ever vandalized or your ever assaulted, please show this review to your attorney as it has been reported repeatedly. Corporate has been advised as well.

I called and asked the pharmacist questions about my husbands medicine. I was under the impression we had been paying cash price. The pharmacist told me he had been using insurance afterall as far back at September. news to me!! I was nothing but nice and while I did ask questions I never truly challenged her. I work in Healthcare. I am 1000% aware of what they are up against. I said I didn't know he was using it. I also made the comment our insurance sucked and since he changed jobs I didn't think it was still active but I said that works. The pharmacist, not a tech, the actual pharmacist, popped off saying "that's our policy and if you don't like it you can go somewhere else". I said wow I have been nothing but nice and respectful and you say that?? I didn't know they could force you to use commercial insurance. I knew Medicaid had to but it was my understanding that if you had commercial you didn't HAVE to use it. I was very upset by the way I was treated. I didn't cuss, I didn't raise my voice; yes I asked questions but again i was nothing but respectful. We choose to go to Kroger; our insurance actually said we had to use CVS or CVS Caremark so it was literally our choice to go to Kroger because of the service we received from their locations in Indianapolis and Plainfield. I have NEVER and would NEVER speak to a patient that way. Unbelievable.

I dropped my Rx off and was told 30 min. Later I went to Pick-Up and they said my insurance "kicked it back." They said it was too early. I checked my dates on last time I had my Rx filled at Walmart. It was 5/2. Today is 5/28. I get a 28 day script. So I called my insurance to ask why because my insurance allows for two days early. They said Kroger never even filed a claim and my Rx was approved to be filled that day. So I questioned Kroger pharmacy and they back peddled saying Wal-Mart entered it as being picked up at on 5/4. I had the bottle and showed them it was wrote, filled and picked up on 5/2. It was a lie. My insurance was never contacted. Kroger never filed a claim. They were lieing. If you have a policy that there's no two days early that's fine..ill go somewhere else. Just don't lie. And if Kroger wants to reply..ill bring my bottle in, we can call my insurance and settle this issue. But I can tell you Krogers not gonna like the outcome... My insurance kicked it back.. pfff... lol.
