  My husband was transferred from the Crawfordsville hospital to St.Vincent heart Center in Carmel, IN. When the arrived they told the receiving nurse that he was in “normal sinus and heart rate was 70ish .” He was being transported for a mitral valve repair and atrial fibrillation. He was not in sinus rhythm. The RN wasn’t going to put him on the heart monitor if he was in normal sinus. I had to insist they checked an EKG that the paramedics were wrong. My husband said they did not put him on a monitor or check his vitals the whole way there. When I verified with the hospital sending him, they said they requested ACLS and they should have monitored him, and had him hooked to the monitor. This was gross negligence on STAR’s part.

  Their service is fine, but billing and answering their phones is remarkably flawed. Nobody answers the phone or returns calls—ever—regarding billing. I've called 20+ times.

  I would avoid using this company at all cost. EMTs friendly. Billing issues. Our insurance company paid the claim & said we owe zero balance & several months later we are still feuding over a bill that our insurance has repeatedly stated we should not owe. Now it’s in collections & we are still fighting. Customer service is absolutely horrible.

  3 hours late when I was told I needed to be transferred to a Lafayette location. Didn't ask for an ambulance either. 1 year later and they're still adding late fees because they expect you to have everything paid off within a certain time frame. Will probably be paying this off for several more years. Real professional.
