- VMvicky mahMar 28, 20261.0I was really excited to try Pilates after hearing so many great things from friends and family. Unfortunately, I was denied entry for being just one minute late. At the time, the class hadn’t started the workout yet; it was still in the introductory phase, going over experience levels and any injuries. I had also notified the SMS portal that I might be a minute late due to traffic, especially with a 30-minute commute, and made every effort to arrive on time. While I appreciate that the receptionist apologized and offered to reschedule, the experience left a disappointing first impression and makes me less inclined to return. I hope the policy can become slightly more flexible in the future to help new clients feel more welcomed.

However, over the last six months, the studio has had a HUGE issue with folks from the previous/upcoming classes talking loudly at the front of the studio. Due to the high ceilings, the sound carries, and it is deeply disruptive to the class. Oftentimes, the first and last fifteen minutes of each class are a total wash, which is unfortunate when classes are 50 minutes. I've spoken several times to instructors, front desk personnel and the class attendees, but it never seems to change and always takes me out of the workout. I love that the studio fosters such a sense of community! I just wish folks weren't so disrespectful to others taking classes.

As I age, exercise has become less about vanity and more about longevity. Pilates has changed my life and I don't see myself ever giving it up. Thanks, Club Pilates Carmel, for all you do.
