Shout out to this YMCA. I had my goddaughter’s 9th birthday party there on yesterday. She loves swimming, and wanted a swimming party. I must say that this was an epic event. The staff were amazing. Shout out to Chrystal (front desk), who greeted all of our guest and kindly explained the reason for identification needed to enter. She was professional and was patient with my entire crew. Major shout out to Ms. Bonita
. She had a great attitude and was approachable. She had a smile even while cleaning. She was able to even redirect us when our crew needed assist. The lifeguards were amazing! I didn’t get their names but the two young ladies and the young man treated our children with care. They were professional even when redirecting our children to follow the rules. They took the job seriously. They explained the seriousness of following the rules and did the swim test to set boundaries on the ones that weren’t able to go into the deep. We had a lot of children there and we felt safe with these young people. People don’t have to be nice or kind. I’m thankful for the staff as a whole. May God continue to bless you all. I really hope that this review reaches the administrators and something special happens for all the staff that was mentioned above!!!

Joining this YMCA is one of the best things I've done! I finally have overcome my fear of water and swimming after taking lessons. Anni and Allie are amazing swim instructors who work with people of all backgrounds and skill levels. I also love the Zumba with Ms K, and yoga with Julie. The staff at this place really makes it worth every penny! I am so grateful for my experiences here.

Men’s locker room is a total joke. They moved old broken down lockers from Granite City and then said new ones are on order for the last two years. Half of them don’t even lock and Management has no interest in providing new lockers. Although they did provide new lockers in the women’s locker room.
Plus, they spent funds to remodel the front desk area, resurface floors in exercise, room, etc., but left the men’s locker room a disaster.
Seems like they spend money on everything but providing the men secure lockers in the locker rooms. Complete mismanagement.
If you’re a man, don’t take anything valuable into the locker room, because even lockers with padlocks on them can be easily opened. Nice to know that men don’t get fair treatment at this location.
Too bad the staff aren’t making the decisions as they are all wonderful.
NOTE TO COLLINSVILLE YMCA MANAGEMENT: please reply to this review and tell me I’m wrong and that new lockers are in fact on the way and give an ETA of when they will arrive. It will never happen.
