Didn't have to wait long, staff was friendly and the process was smooth. Dr Ahmed was great. He really took the time to understand where my discomfort was and was able to talk to me in a way that made me feel like we were on the same page. He had wide range of symptoms that we discussed so we could pinpoint the pain which gave him a good opportunity to better diagnose the issue. Plus no discomfort afterwards, check out was simple and I had great communication with the nurses and staff for my exit procedures and next steps.

This is a terrible place! Do not bother wasting your time, they do not care about your health, I was told by a staff member that I needed to pay before I could get surgery done. I have severe issues but money must seem to be the most important, as I was told Dr. Shakeel Ahmed said he would not see me until I paid, I will definitely be seeking help elsewhere, I have Blue cross and blue shield, I already have surgery scheduled somewhere else and considering my medical issues I was not put in a situation to pay money upfront or not be seen. This place does not even deserve a 1 star. 0 out of 10 I would never recommend this place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

I really like the nurses and doctors, but the front desk is some rude people, and somebody needs to return my call when i leave a message
Frequently Asked Questions About Center For Gastrointestinal Health
What preparation is required?
For the procedure to be thorough and accurate, your colon needs to be entirely clean.
How do I prepare for the colonoscopy?
Detailed preparation instructions will be provided to you at the time your appointment is scheduled.
What about my current medications?
Review your preparation information sheet for specific guidance. Essential medications, including those for your heart, may be taken on the morning of your procedure with a small amount of water.
What are clear liquids?
Clear liquids include water, coffee or tea, strained fruit juices without pulp such as apple juice and white grape juice, soft drinks, sports drinks like ginger ale, cola, Sprite, 7-Up, and Gatorade. Low-sodium, fat-free chicken or beef bouillon or broth are acceptable. Lemon or lime Jello without fruit or toppings is allowed. Hard candies are permitted. Avoid anything containing red or purple coloring.
Why can't I have red or purple coloring?
These colorings may leave residue in your bowel that can be mistaken for blood.
How soon after the procedure will I return to full activity?
You should be able to resume your normal activities, including driving, the following day.
Why do I need a colonoscopy for colon cancer screening if I have no symptoms?
Symptoms of colon cancer typically don't appear until the disease has advanced. Since colon cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States, screening is critically important.
How long will the procedure take?
The colonoscopy itself typically lasts 30-45 minutes. However, with preparation time and recovery, you and your escort should plan to be at our facility for approximately 90-120 minutes.
I take antibiotics before dental procedures, will I need to take antibiotics before my procedure?
The American Heart Association has established specific guidelines for determining when antibiotics are necessary before endoscopic procedures. These guidelines may be different from those your dentist follows for dental work. If you have concerns about whether you need pre-procedure antibiotics, please discuss this with our office. Antibiotics are typically required for patients with artificial heart valves.
Is the procedure videotaped?
While the images from your procedure are displayed on a television monitor, we don't have the ability to record video of procedures.
