- RBRobin Buckner3 days ago1.0The doctor was nice but I checked before going to see what my plan covers and along with pearl being an in network provider. They told me I had over a $230 allowance for my glasses plus I new I had a $10 copay the glasses I picked was at $200 because of course they didn’t have anything for less. When they gave me my total at the end of the visit I was told I had a balance for over $200 and I asked why and they said 75$ fitting fee for contacts which I didn’t understand considering I purchased contacts before for pearl but this should have been told to me before they were given to me and they the additional $100 balance was for the glasses which should have been covered by insurance considering I had not gone over my limit. I left with my prescription and went somewhere else because I didn’t get charged that amount at America’s best which is out of network. They need to start breaking down fees to patients before the visit and not afterwards because I been wearing glasses and contacts my whole life and never had this problem and been having the same insurance through my job for over 2years.
