  A deeply upsetting experience for our five-year-old daughter Dr. Tony and staff, Our experience with this office has been extremely disappointing, but what happened during our most recent visit crossed a line that I cannot ignore. Our five-year-old daughter was scheduled to have four fillings worked on and was understandably nervous about the appointment. We understand that your office has a policy prohibiting parents from accompanying their children into the treatment area. While we may not agree with that policy, we understand that it is your practice's decision. What we cannot understand or accept is a dentist yelling at a frightened five-year-old child and telling her to stop crying. She was already scared and needed patience, reassurance, and compassion. Instead, an experience that was already overwhelming for her was made even more distressing by the very person we trusted to care for her. As a pediatric dental office, your staff should understand that young children can be frightened by dental procedures and that how they are treated during those moments can have a lasting impact. To make matters worse, we were then told that if she could not calm down, we would need to find another dental practice. No alternative recommendations were offered. We were left feeling that our daughter's fear was being treated as an inconvenience rather than something that deserved understanding and professional care. This was not simply a disagreement over office policy. It was a matter of how a five-year-old child was treated when she was scared and vulnerable. A policy about parents being present does not excuse a lack of compassion from the person providing care. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated concern for us. Each visit has felt worse than the one before, and after looking through other parents' reviews, I was deeply troubled to see similar concerns being raised by other families. I do not take leaving a negative review lightly, but other parents deserve to know about our experience before deciding where to take their children. No parent wants to send their child somewhere they trust to provide pediatric care, only to learn that their child was yelled at for being afraid. I intend to contact Dr. Tony directly to discuss what happened and expect this experience to be taken seriously. Our daughter deserved patience, compassion, and respect. Every child does. Also don't waste your time giving me your pre-filled this is our policy and we care about the kids response. I would strongly encourage parents to carefully consider these concerns before choosing this practice for their children.

  My daughter has been going here since she has gotten her first tooth! She is now 6. Great experience everytime. Today she had to get 2 baby teeth extracted due to adult ones growing behind them & it went super smooth. Everything was explained well, all my questions answered, and they made my daughter feel super comfortable during the whole process! Same with myself. I think I was more nervous than her knowing what they were going to do but it went so great! Happy with the results, thank you!

  My son has been coming here for a couple years. They are all so friendly and kind, take good care of my son’s teeth and you are in as soon as you sit down! They get you in and out!

  I absolutely love Crystal Lake Pediatric Dentistry. My son has had some bad dental experiences and they make him feel comfortable. He loves going to the dentist now! I love how we are always greeted with a smile and everyone is so friendly. I always recommend this place to my friends and family.
