Michelle was so responsive and helpful in the ordering process and Adam was wonderful installing our lift. He was so helpful and truly problem solved some of the inconvenient quirks of our old home with kindness and professionalism. We're so grateful and thrilled with our new lift.
- TJTheresa JohnsonJun 22, 20261.0Horrible service. They have no emergency services & don’t care that for a lot of their customers their wheelchairs are their only mode of transportation. Not to mention the fact that their chairs need to be in good working order especially for emergencies if they need to get out of an area. My son has been calling trying to get them to help him because his charger/chair won’t charge. They will not help. Definitely will be finding him a new provider
- NNNicoletteMay 28, 20261.0I will never use this company again. I contacted them to fix a broken power WC they issued a patient. I waited on hold 49 minutes to speak with anyone. Was then told they do not have a tech available for almost 3 weeks and was given an 8 hour "window" for that day. I explained the patient would have no mobility options without his chair and was told they only have so many techs and there's nothing they can do.
- JAJim ArthurMay 15, 20265.0These are absolutely wonderful people. They are caring and empathetic. The Doctor Who initially interviewed me is doing this Out of wanting to help people and it shows. Soon after a technician with the virtual doctor came over for measurements. They pushed the manufacture of The chair so it was done earlier than expected. The technician who is very experienced, knowledgeable, and helpful, came to show us everything about the chair and adjust it to me personally. It was a great experience, and the chair is wonderful.
- AMAaron MooreMay 7, 20261.0A very poorly run business! I have been waiting and waiting for a wheelchair and they just keep extending it farther and farther out. I was told three months and it has now been six months and still nothing. No communication at all. It is even hard to get repairs done on the loaner they gave me. When you call, no one knows what is going on. It has just been a terrible experience all around.

How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
