Don't be fooled by the initial "nice to meet you conversation". They were the company I had to use due to my insurance for a power wheelchair. This place does not return phones calls and, if/when you go talk to someone they are very rude. After they recognize your name they don't even bother to answer. After close to a year of not getting my order I had to purchase a chair on my own out of pocket. Out of the blue the sales rep called right after New Year 2025 and brainless as I was I agreed to another try after being promised the communication issues were fixed. Now granted, it wasn't as long the second time to get my chair but overall from initial consultation to final delivery it was 1 1/2 years. After having the chair for a while the leather is already cracking, the amount of time it holds a charge has dwindled and it's comfort level is awful.
The positive side is that Health Alliance dumped us all and I'm no longer tied to their rules. The new companies have been pretty good.

My electric wheel chair was ordered in Jan of 2025. It is going into may of 2026. Still no chair. Their worker had my file sitting in his van for THREE MONTHS with my personal protected health information and they did absolutely nothing. I was supposed to get weekly updates from manager and that hasn't happened and no one ever returns my calls. Spoke to representative AGAIN yesterday and she said no notes on my account since November of 2025. That was 7 months ago. Meanwhile, I'm housebound because of their incompetence. I am NOT happy and have been contemplating getting a lawyer at this point over my medical information being compromised and the neglect from this company. I wish there were other options because this company obviously has no regard for customers, their health information, their quality of life, or customer service

National Seating And Mobility has been my go to for fixing my very old Mobile Wheelchair. Brian who is out of Peoria Illinois would always come and fix her the best possible way. Now I'm going to be with the champagne area with Ken and just as Brian was with me with my Old chair Ken is going to take care of me and my new chair. I could not say enough good things about this company. I left a different Mobile chair company because they were not taking care of me and they were not telling me what I needed . There's nothing hidden with National Seating And Mobility they are very up
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
