  My Dad's experience with hospice was brief, but one we will never forget. We experienced a team of incredible, compassionate professionals. My Dad was living at home with end stage Lung Cancer. On Friday evening, he began to decline very quickly. Journey Care sent a nurse that was there within a couple hours. He did everything to make sure that my dad was comfortable and not in any pain. He was transferred that evening to the inpatient hospice unit at 9 pm at night. Where he was treated with dignity. They made sure he was clean and comfortable. My Dad passed away, and they made sure that he and his family were treated with the utmost respect. They provided a celebration of life service, where my dad was covered in a quilt, staff stood and a song of our choosing was playing while he was escorted to the hearse. My only regret was we did not have hospice services earlier. With that being said, my dad was determined to fight until there was not fight left.   Our family cannot thank JourneyCare enough for the phenomenal care they have provided, especially for my dad. Knowing he is deeply cared for, supported, and helped in every way possible has been an enormous comfort to all of us. A special recognition goes to Betty, our hospice nurse, who has become such a huge part of our lives. She is caring, thoughtful, and endlessly considerate, always doing everything she possibly can to keep my dad comfortable and well-cared-for. Her dedication and compassion have meant the world to our family during this journey.

  I couldn’t have picked a better place for my grandmothers last few days on Earth. Every single staff member was so kind and patient and it felt genuine. Seeing how comfortable my grandmother felt meant everything to us. They also made us feel very comfortable that we didn’t want to leave! It’s obviously a sad situation and I hope to never be back but if I had to choose a place for a loved one to go at the end, it’s here!

  JourneyCare was a blessing during one of the hardest times in our lives. We are especially grateful for Sheena, whose kindness, patience, and gentle presence brought comfort to my father and all of us. She cared for him not just as a patient, but as someone who was deeply loved. We will always remember JourneyCare, and we are so grateful to their entire team for everything they did for my dad until the very end.

  The team at JourneyCare made this difficult experience a little easier, helping all of us along the way and taking the lead when we wouldn't have known what to do. We truly appreciate them.
