I highly recommend Healing Collective Counseling to anyone looking for compassionate and professional care. I felt welcomed and comfortable. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and genuinely supportive.
The therapists are kind, attentive, and truly care about their clients’ well-being. They take the time to listen without judgment and create a safe space where it’s easy to open up and be honest. Every interaction feels authentic, and it’s clear that helping people is more than just a job for them.

I’m actually quite upset with the lack of communication between the time I made my appointment and up until the actual day of my appointment. I scheduled my initial intake session a little over a week ago through their website and I never received a confirmation email or a portal notification about my appointment. Since I never received one I continued to check my email and portal app for any updates about my appointment knowing that I probably had to fill out paperwork and I still had yet to receive anything. 3 1/2 hours before my appointment I finally received an email from the woman I was suppose to have an appointment with stating that if I didn’t fill out my intake forms that my appointment would be cancelled. However I did not get to read that email because I was already at work and am not allowed to have my phone on me at work so I was not able read that email.i hadn’t received anything previous emails about my intake forms and There wasn’t an email sent at least 24 hours in advance, only 3 1/2 hours before my appointment. I wouldn’t have been able to even fill out my intake forms before my appointment regardless at that point. Not to mention that the forms I was suppose to fill out weren’t even showing up in my portal up like it stated in the email. which I check quite frequently. So between the late email and the fact that the forms I was suppose to fill out weren’t even available to me my appointment was then cancelled. I wish the email would have been sent out at least 24 hours prior to my appointment because then I would’ve have been able to respond especially knowing now that my portal app wasn’t receiving any of the forms they had sent me. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be rescheduling my appointment here.

Jessica is very down to earth. Easy to relax around. I feel she really cares about me and my life. Jessica is very bright and informed. Bowie is an extra added bonus, a twist on traditional therapy. His heart is huge and full of love. He is a real comfort to me and has lifted my spirits again and again. Jessica and Bowie.... I highly recommend you give them a try

Jessica (and Bowie of course) are truly the best. I’ve been seeing Jessica for several years now, she has been my cheerleader and celebrated some of the biggest highlights of my life and has also been there in some of the hardest moments. She has provided such a supportive environment and I’m incredibly grateful! And Bowie will always put a small on your face! 🐾
Frequently Asked Questions About Healing Collective Counseling
How long are appointments?
The duration of counseling sessions typically ranges from 45 to 60 minutes.
When should I see a counselor?
There is no inappropriate time to seek counseling. Any concern, regardless of its perceived magnitude, is valid for seeking support. Common reasons include experiencing life difficulties, struggling with mental health issues such as depression or anxiety, undergoing significant life changes, or coping with loss. These are just a few examples of situations where counseling can be beneficial.
Are my therapy appointments confidential?
Your appointments are confidential in accordance with HIPAA privacy standards. We do not share your information without your consent. However, as mandated reporters, we are legally and ethically obligated to report instances of child or elder abuse, as well as suicidal or homicidal threats. If such a situation arises necessitating a report, we will inform you of this action.
What happens if I miss my appointment?
A $100 fee is applied for missed appointments or cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time. This fee is automatically charged to the credit card on file. This policy allows our therapists to offer the vacant slot to another individual seeking counseling.
How often should I see my counselor?
The frequency of counseling sessions is determined on an individual basis. Your counselor will work with you to develop a treatment plan, which includes recommendations for appointment frequency. Most clients attend sessions either weekly or bi-weekly.
What insurances do you accept?
Our practice is in-network with several insurance providers including Wellmark/BlueCross BlueShield, UHC/UMR, Medicaid (Iowa Total Care, Molina, Wellpoint), some Aetna plans, and Midland's Choice/Health Partners/Cigna. Insurance coverage can vary by provider within our practice. We recommend contacting your insurance company to inquire about your mental health counseling benefits, or reaching out to our office for more detailed information.
What types of therapy do you specialize in?
Our team offers several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based therapy, as well as couples and family counseling. Each treatment plan is customized to fit your individual needs.
Do you offer virtual counseling sessions?
Yes, we offer secure and private virtual counseling sessions for those who prefer online appointments. This option allows you to receive high-quality care from the comfort of your own home.
How do I know if counseling is right for me?
Counseling may be helpful if you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or major life transitions. An initial consultation can help determine whether counseling is a good fit and what approach may best support your goals.
What can I expect during my first session?
Your first session is a chance to talk about what brought you to counseling and what you hope to achieve. We’ll review your background, address any questions you have, and begin developing a personalized plan to support your mental well-being.
