  I was disappointed with my experience scheduling a physical therapy appointment for my daughter. The office requested that I contact her physician to have the referral sent over. Since I don’t have their fax number or know exactly what documentation is required, I asked if they could simply contact the doctor’s office directly. I made this request because I had the exact same experience with another Rock Valley Physical Therapy location, where the staff handled the referral process without hesitation, even though I hadn’t been seen there in over 18 months. The lady on the phone stated since my daughter hadn’t been seen in over 60 days is why to why we’re being difficult to work with. When I asked why this location couldn’t do the same, I was told they prefer that patients make all of the calls themselves. I was genuinely trying to understand the difference in policy between two locations operating under the same name, especially when I was told they have the same equipment and services. Instead of receiving a clear explanation, the conversation became unnecessarily defensive, and I was even asked if I was “not being nice,” despite remaining calm and simply asking direct questions. Healthcare should prioritize making the process easier for patients, especially when coordinating referrals between medical offices. Having providers communicate directly with one another is often more efficient and reduces unnecessary back-and-forth for families. Unfortunately, this interaction came across as inflexible and lacking in customer service. My concern wasn’t that I was unwilling to make the call, I would have done so without issue. My concern was the inconsistency between locations and the unwillingness to provide the same level of assistance that I have previously received from another Rock Valley Physical Therapy office.

  River Rehab is an EXCELLENT clinic! The staff are highly skilled, extremely competent, an have true compassion for their clients. The clinic is run in a peaceful and orderly manner. If you choose River Rehab you will not be disappointed!

  I have a special needs daughter. She has recently became fearful of getting into the bathtub. She is also afraid of climbing stairs. This made going down the next level of our house to shower, a challenge, and not a fun one for either of us. Since coming to PT and working with Moriah my daughter can step into the tub with no worries and she is climbing stairs with confidence. It is great to see her excitement when she conquers these fears with the help of her new friend and caring therapist Moriah. I would highly recommend River Rehab. My daughter LOVES to go to PT and looks forward to it! Thank you River Rehabilitation
