- VVVestaDec 8, 20225.0Never having had Physical Therapy, I did not know what to expect when I set up my first appointment. I did have several recommendations from friends, so I went with that. I have NEVER been disappointed once! The River Rehab team is caring, very helpful all the way and always positive & encouraging. I have learned something new from each therapist who assisted me (1) from pulling in your core muscles & breathing because your muscles cannot work well without oxygen (breathing) as you do the exercises (2) the only time your toes should be pointed down is if you are a ballerina! (3) a stretching exercise I was taught (actually many) that I can do at home really intrigued me: if you hold a stretch for 30 seconds, your muscle(s) will memorize that!! (4) And my personal favorite: Think of Physical Therapy as "Pain with a purpose"! I am also very impressed at how the entire team of therapists, experts and the two ladies at the reception area work together to help their patients get the very best care to get moving again and back to restored health. Even though I was NOT an "easy patient" (none of them agreed with that, however), they went above & beyond my expectations. Thank you all so very much, Vesta Stammer
