They took the time to ask and answer questions to make sure that all of my needs were met. They explained things to me in a way that made sense and were helpful with insurance needs. I would highly recommend this office! It is a calm, welcoming, and safe environment. I was hesitant about starting at a new dental office, but I am happy I did! I feel like I’m in good hands!

- AHAlyssa HenningsSep 8, 20261.0We used to love Dubuque Dental when we were with Dr. Kilburg, however new dentist has shown a high level of frustration and a lack of professionalism with my daughter. I was very clear when we first transferred, she had a fear of the dentist due to a previous traumatic experience. Unfortunately, all the new dentist has done is compound that and make is worse. She stated to my child, "I have toddlers that can handle this better." I am Very aware it is frustrating to have a child crying and dysregulated in your office, but there is a way to handle that without being derogatory and rude. We thought it was a onetime thing, the provider could just have been having a bad day, but when we recently attempted again it was the same scenario. The front desk staff were great, and the hygienist were great, but we will be transferring care due to these ongoing experiences.

Can I use baking soda to whiten my teeth?
We don't recommend using baking soda to whiten teeth. It's abrasive nature can damage your tooth enamel. Instead, we can suggest safe and effective whitening options.
I am prone to canker sores, is there a toothpaste that can help? Are there foods that make my canker sores worse?
Using toothpaste without sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) may help reduce canker sore occurrences. Additionally, limiting acidic, spicy, and salty foods can help prevent irritation and worsening of canker sores.
My child has an adult tooth coming in behind a baby tooth, what should I do?
This is a common occurrence. Encourage your child to gently wiggle the baby tooth to promote natural loss. As the adult tooth emerges, it naturally dissolves the baby tooth's roots, leaving it connected only by soft tissue.
