  Dr Thayer is thorough in his examinations and explains everything along the way. The staff helping with everything else are absolutely amazing! The asst manager and manager are really cool, very helpful people. I drive 1.5 hours one way to visit this team!

  Dr. Thayer was very thorough and thoughtfully explained everything during my appointment very well. Zero complaints with the exam itself. However, I arrived 10mins early for my appointment and my daughter chose to wait in the car for me. The desk associate explained there was “one person ahead of me” despite 2 patients waiting. I didn’t think anything of it. I asked approximately how long before my turn and she said 15mins- ok no problem. I shopped around and retuned 10mins later. After 25 minutes passed the patient in front of me was finished and the other patient waiting was called back. Still no updates from the 3 associates at the desk. 40 minutes after my arrival, I finally asked one of the associates if she had an idea of how much longer it might be. She didn’t even look up from her computer to answer me. I’m assuming one of the 2 parents ahead of me was a walk-in. If that’s the case, then what’s the advantage of having an actual appointment if they take walk-ins in front of scheduled patients? When I was finally called back there was no apology or anything other than a “thanks for your patience today”. I had a daughter waiting in the car and we were late for our next appointment across town by the time we left. I’ve never been late for an appointment in my life. I only have so many days off from work to use for doctor’s appointments and I never dreamed my eye exam would take a hour. This same scenario happened during my son’s latest visit here and we figured it was a fluke. After happening twice, I can no longer justify returning. It’s unfortunate because I was happy with the care I had received from Dr Thayer during my visits but this is unprofessional and inconsiderate of patients’ time.

  What a great group of employees! Everyone was so kind and helpful! Made getting contacts a quick and easy experience on a busy Saturday! I will drive from West Des Moines to this location because of how great my experience was!

  I was very impressed with the level of care from the doctor. He explained things thoroughly and we discussed other health factors as well. The optician was helpful and thorough, showing me all the options before I placed my eyeglass order. She also recommended which frame suited my face best. Thank you!
