I have been going to this LensCrafters location for years and have always enjoyed my experiences with the sales team. In fact, my 3-star review is solely a reflection of my experience with the optometrist’s front desk—not the retail staff.
The sales team is among the most welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional group of people I’ve encountered at any LensCrafters nationwide. They truly deserve a 5/5, if not a 10/10, for their customer service.
Unfortunately, my last visit was overshadowed by my interaction with the optometrist’s front desk receptionist, Ben. During check-in, he repeatedly asked very personal and invasive questions about my profession, job title, and annual income. I attempted to politely deflect the conversation multiple times, but the questions continued. It made me genuinely uncomfortable and was completely unrelated to the reason for my visit.
This was especially disappointing because the optometrist himself is outstanding, and I’ve always appreciated the quality of care I’ve received here. Employees who conduct themselves this way can negatively impact the reputation and public perception of an otherwise excellent practice.
Despite this experience, I still highly recommend this location if you’re looking for new glasses. The sales team and optometrist are exceptional. However, I believe the front desk staff on the optometry side would benefit from additional training in professionalism, appropriate customer interactions, and respecting personal boundaries. Had it not been for this experience, this review would have been an easy 5 stars.

Brittany and the lab tech did a wonderful job of answering all my questions and helping me choose all the features for my new lenses with my existing prescription going into my vintage Ray Ban 5022 Wayfarer sunglasses. Very good discount and coverage by my insurance! They’ll be ready in 7-10 days! Excellent experience!

I just left my eye appointment. When I tell you they were PROMPT. I was done with my exam in 20 minutes! Which I appreciate because I had to leave work to make my appointment bc I missed it yesterday! The doctor was SO professional and even though he was pressed for time he didn’t let me know it. (He had a 9:15 appointment afterwards) His energy, professionalism and banter was the epitome of southern hospitality! The lady who helped me pick out my frames was not only pretty, very knowledgeable, professional BUT kind too! I am coming back in a few hours to get my frames. I tried Americas best when I first got to Savannah and then Warby Parker’s last year and this year it’s Lens Crafters! Love love that I chose this company! So far so good 🤗

I began visiting this LensCrafters several years ago when I moved to Savannah. I live farther away now, but I still take the time to drive out of my way to this location. They have efficient online scheduling tools and super convenient appointment times (even Sundays). Dr. A is always very friendly and thorough. Even though I was his last patient today, he treated me with the same care and concern as if I were his first. Additionally, he somehow remembers me and my husband, despite having so many patients. Today, I also got to work with Brittany to find a pair of glasses. The lenses are a very minimal prescription (just for eye strain looking at a computer all day). She clearly shared all the pricing details, and she gave me pointers about what “upgrades” (e.g., anti-reflective lenses, sturdiness of the frames, etc.) would actually make a difference. I felt like her advice was genuine. As someone who doesn’t have experience buying glasses, I sincerely appreciate the time and effort she dedicated to my selection process.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
