  We had an extremely unacceptable experience at Dr. Barbara Utermark's office. ​First, while waiting, my 2-year-old daughter was dancing on a small bench, and I took a quick picture of her. While I fully understand and respect clinic "no photo" policies for privacy reasons, the way Dr. Utermark handled it was completely unprofessional. Dr. Utermark saw me and became extremely defensive, stating that no pictures are allowed in the clinic. She demanded that I delete the photo, repeatedly asked if I had taken any others, and insisted that I show her my phone screen to verify. ​Second, during the exam, my daughter began crying and screaming. Instead of managing a toddler's expected distress with empathy, Dr. Utermark said, "Well, if we're going to be loud and scream, I'm going to put my ear plugs in." She then walked behind us and spent 30 seconds inserting earplugs while her staff continued to physically restrain my screaming child. ​Finally, toward the end of the appointment, Dr. Utermark condescendingly questioned whether we were actually brushing our daughter's teeth twice a day at home simply because she was fighting the examination. ​My wife is a dentist, so we are well-versed in standard pediatric dental care, clinical protocols, and patient management. We have never seen this level of hostility, poor bedside manner, and complete lack of professional empathy toward a young patient. We will not be returning.

  Dr. Utermark and her team have been amazing throughout my daughter's orthodontic journey. Because of her crossbite, treatment was a longer process and required correcting that issue before braces, but they guided us every step of the way with professionalism, patience, and care. The results are incredible, and we couldn't be happier with her smile. We are so grateful for the support and expertise Dr. Utermark and her team provided throughout the entire process. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding orthodontic care!

  I give 10 stars but they only let 5. Dr.Uttermarks office staff and herself are great, helpful and absolutely phenomenal fixing my son and daughters teeth! I like them so much that I will be going back to get my teeth done.

  This place has come across my mind a couple of times in the past year or so. After looking at the reviews, I’ve seen others share their experiences about some of the practices that were absolutely traumatizing to me. I vividly remember the staff in this office using restraints on children who they felt moved around too much in the dentist chair - myself included. Considering I was already uneasy or anxious about dental visits, this made it so much worse. I absolutely hated coming to this place, and still have so much discomfort of the memories from 20+ years ago. I’m not sure of what takes place in this office presently; however, I think it’s fair to advise you to please proceed with caution. Especially when dealing with children who don’t or can’t properly advocate for themselves.

  Dr. Utermark did an amazing job on my 14-year-old daughter’s teeth! From start to finish, the experience was professional, caring, and stress-free. She made her feel comfortable and confident, and her smile looks absolutely beautiful. We are beyond pleased with the results and grateful for the excellent care she received. Highly recommend Dr. Utermark and her team!
