Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

The people in this pharmacy could care less about you or when you get your meds. I have been getting mine here for a good while. But now for the last 3 months or so I have to wait on them to order the medicine. It might take weeks. Maybe they don't want customers. That makes it easier for them

Horrible experience! I requested Rx to be filled online via the app and was given a date of Saturday (5/7/22). I never receive consistent text notifications as promised. I arrived on Saturday but was told the Rx would not be filled until Wednesday (5/11/22). Every month I experience this inconsistent communication between the app and the pharmacy location. I attempted to share my concern with the pharmacy manager (Daggar or Daggan) but was humiliated by her rude tone and unprofessional behavior. This was totally uncalled for and unwarranted. She remained behind the third-row counter, about 100 feet from where I stood at the consult/drop-off area. I informed her that I was hard of hearing, and offered to wait until she could come to the consult area to speak with me. However, she very rudely informed me that "she had to work" and that she "didn't have time to speak with me". She then pointed toward the other 3 customers in line and says: "I have listened to you speak for the 30 seconds you've stood there" and "I need to get back to my work". She did not want to give me her name when I inquired but said "I am the pharmacy manager and I will not be filling your Rx until Wednesday". After asking her name several times, she finally rushed it off to me. I asked to confirm the spelling and she abruptly spelled out what either sounded like "D-a-g-g-a-n" or "D-a-g-g-a-r". I left with no resolution. I reported the horrible store experience that day with Kroger customer service. At my up-coming Dr.'s appt., Tuesay (5/10/22), I decided I'd have my future Rxs sent to another pharmacy location instead to avoid having any other encounters with this rude, hostile manager in the future, as well to prevent another inconvenience due to the inconsitent communication between the app and pharmacy staff. Unfortunately, after my Dr.'s appt., I learned that the office sent my Rxs to Kroger by mistake, instead of the requested location. Since one of my Rxs is "controlled" it could not be transferred and I'd have to have the Dr.'s office cancel the current Rx and submit a new one to the new pharmacy location. Since it was after 5PM and the office had closed, I had to continue with Kroger for now. I called to confirm a pickup time and was informed that my Rxs would be ready Wednesday (5/11/22) morning. However, the app showed a pickup time of 8PM for 3 Rx's and 2PM for 1 Rx on Wednesday (5/11/22). Before arriving, I called the pharmacy at 8:15 AM that Wednesday morning and confirmed with the pharmacy tech that the 4 Rxs would be ready by 9:30 AM. I arrived at 10:30 AM but was told that 1 of my Rx's would have to be "ordered". The one needing to be "ordered" was the same Rx I inquired about that past Saturday (5/7/22). Upon my arrival and as I approached the counter, "Daggan/Daggar" was once again in the third row (far back) counter speaking with a pharmacy tech, she looked up at me, shook her head "no", and said something to the pharmacy tech. The person at the checkout informed me that my Rx from 5/7/22 had to be "ordered" and that I would receive a text message when it would be available. I hardly ever receive text notifications when my Rx is ready for pickup. Texts notifications are very sporatic and therefore, unreliable. I wasn't given any concrete answer on when it would be available, only that the "truck makes delivers around 11:30 AM". I wasn't given any apology for my inconvenience. I wasn't even given the courtesy of offering to contact another Kroger pharmacy with the medication in stock to possibly have it filled there. I was simply told that "I will receive a text whenever it's ready". On the app, I saw where the time was pushed back from being ready at 2PM to 7PM. At this point, there are several unresolved issues with this pharmacy. The communication received via the app differs from info given by pharmacy staff. However, most disconcerting is the pharmacy manager's hostility toward customers. She is rude, unprofessional, lacks tack, and provides horrendous customer service.

This pharmacy is right around the corner from my house, but I would go out of my way to go here now. They are always nice and very helpful even and especially when they are super busy.

Extremely rude people working there. Very lazy and unwilling to provide excellent customer service. UPDATE: If you can, GO TO TOM HILL SR KROGER!!! The woman there not ONLY helped me coordinate with my insurance (unlike the worthless manager at this location), but she saved me $48 by searching and applying discount codes until something worked with my insurance! Maybe the people at Tom Hill should train North Ave...
