Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.
This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.
This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.
There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.
These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.
This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.
These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.
Physical & Wellness Screenings
Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.
When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.
Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Me and my family have been using the Kroger Pharmacy on Zebulon Road for a while now, most recently I went to pick up a prescription, they had made a mistake, I pointed out that the quantity was inaccurate, I was told by the pharmacy associate that it would be fixed, and I could pick up the medicine the next day, however, I experienced the same problem the next day and the prescription was inaccurate. I left the pharmacy again and called them 3 days in a row only to find out that they had never fixed the problem in the first place. I left the Pharmacy today quite disappointed, but shockingly the pharmacist stood there in plain sight, overheard my conversation with the associate and he did not acknowledge the error, neither apologized or promised to fix the problem. I asked for the store manager, but the manager was apparently on break. I’ve never experienced such poor customer service, disregard for customers specially when it comes to a big name store like Kroger. I requested them to transfer my prescription. no wonder they only have three stars on their reviews.

The three stars are for Chris, or I would have given one star. When I first arrived to the pharmacy I waited patiently in line. A skinny angry young African American girl said, “Come on up!” As I walked towards the counter smiling she said, “Never mind, let him come first!” shooing me away. (It was a young gentleman sitting down, on his phone.) I brushed it off and let the gentleman go first. (There is just a way you say and do things.) Shortly after, Chris and a young Caucasian girl ended up helping me (not sure why the angry girl didn’t want to help me), both very pleasant. A few minutes later when I came back to pick up my prescription I went up to the counter where the angry young girl was normally at. (At the other side there was the pleasant young girl, helping out an upset customer.) I’m texting on my phone patiently waiting for the angry girl to assist me and I hear, “Get back!” as she shooed me away. I look up confused and Chris and I just look at each other. (In my mind I’m thinking, who yells at a customer to get back?!) Then Chris proceeds to kindly explain that she was going to take over assisting the angry customer. (Perhaps the young pleasant girl was new, IDK.) So I move away from the desk, waiting patiently for my turn, again Chris and the pleasant girl assist me.
The next day I come back to pick up my meds hoping the angry young girl would be in a better mood…… she wasn’t. When I approached the counter, this time she didn’t even acknowledge me! She just ignored me and yelled out to Chris to assist me. I wonder if she even realizes her behavior? Perhaps no one has told her, perhaps I should have told her but I was just trying to keep the peace because I was in pain after having surgery and I didn’t want any drama. Plus Chris was just so pleasant, please somebody give him a raise!!! A few minutes later I return to pick up my medication and she says, “Come on up!” as she proceeds to check me out. I couldn’t believe she actually assisted me, I’m thinking because she had no choice, it was just her and Chris.
I try to give people the benefit of a doubt, maybe she is the guard dog of the pharmacy. Or maybe she is going through something traumatic at home, but regardless, she needs to learn how to not take it out on her customers. One day she may get into an encounter with a customer who will actually give her back the same energy she puts out (even though I’m sure she can take it) and it will escalate and turn really bad, very quickly for all involved. For me, like I said, I just had surgery, with a big visible scar over my neck, and I’m too weak to argue with anyone (which is probably why she targeted me). At this point in my life, I just want peace.
