I had my yearly physical with Dr. Hardy on 03/26/26. I expressed concerns regarding an issue I experienced with another physician he referred me to as well as an issue with his NP, Jessi. Dr. Hardy said to me, “is there even anything going on with you today or are you just here to complain the entire time. This isn’t McDonalds”. Dr. Hardy then said to me “now, I’m getting upset”. The audacity! Because I should have been the one upset. I have been with Dr. Hardy about 3 or 4 years, and he pretended to have good bedside manners. However, he is a wolf in sheep clothing because the one time I expressed my concerns and brought issues to his attention, his true colors were revealed. I called Dr. Hardy’s office on 03/30/26 to request my medical records. I was advised there would be no charge for my records, and the staff asked me why I wanted my records and if I needed them faxed somewhere. I said I needed them for my personal records. I was informed I would receive a call once my records were ready. I called Dr. Hardy’s office again on 04/06/26 and spoke with Tera (Tara) to request my records once more. Tera advised me there would be a charge for my medical records and stated she did not know how much. She also advised that she had 6 people ahead of me and asked why I wanted my records, offering to fax them to another office. As I previously stated the first time I requested my records, I advised I need them for my personal records. I have not received a call stating that my records are ready to be picked up. Therefore, I also filed a complaint with the Georgia Composite Medical Board. It should not be this difficult to obtain my records.

My husband's doctor, who is with this practice, seems to be good although very traditional. The problem is the office system. You cannot reach a doctor who will help you after hours, even with a prescription for pain in the case of a repeating kidney stone that usually passes. Doctor on call was very abrupt and said to go to the emergency room--during COVID.
Recently, we started receiving bills from 5 years ago. We have always paid any bill we received, and the office staff admitted that they had had trouble with this billing provider. The doctor, after 8 phone calls from me with staff, finally "forgave" that old amount "reluctantly." I questioned the word "reluctantly" when we had not been billed for these services (due to another error in billing). That's when the billing representative hung up on me. Sigh. I know we need to be respectful in these crazy staffing times, but clients/patients deserve respect as well.
