I had an appointment, it was 45 minutes after my appointment time before seeing the Dr. I have never had a late appointment before today. This is a new Team from my appointment last year. The doctor was very professional upon seeing me.

The visit itself was fine, but I’m giving this office 3 stars because of what happened with the contact lens exam.
I wear glasses, not contacts. Both the technician who took me to the back and the eye doctor repeatedly encouraged me to try contacts. I explained to both of them that I’ve tried contacts before and they’re simply not a good fit for me. Despite that, they continued to push the idea.
The doctor told me that because my prescription is so strong, the contact fitting and trial should be covered as a medical necessity. I specifically asked if it would be free, and she shrugged and said, “Yeah, might as well if it’s free.”
Today I received a bill for $81 because I had already used my vision benefits for my glasses, meaning the contact fitting and contact exam were not covered.
I truly believe this charge should be dismissed. Both the doctor and the assistant knew I never wanted contacts in the first place and only agreed because I was told there would be no cost. The assistant even called me about the bill, and I reminded him that I had never wanted the contacts to begin with. He said he would pass my concerns along.
Now I’m waiting to see if anyone follows up. Had I been told there would be an $81 charge, I would have declined the contact exam entirely.
