Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I am officially through with Kroger’s pharmacies and their lack of diligence, understanding, and respect. I have to take birth control for medical issues with the cause being my uterus. Birth control is an invasive treatment because if you do not take the pill daily at an appropriate time, there is a likelihood of having a breakthrough which could either last seven days to MONTHS. Because of this pharmacy’s absence of proper management and work ethic, my birth control has been late and/or delayed countless times which then causes breakthroughs that are considerably agonizing and a grievance to my general health. Kroger pharmacies advertise holding the value of health, however, this is far from reality, as I’ve had to endure all these problems due to their unwillingness. This is exactly why most say the healthcare system in States are problematic and atrocious. Where there should be hospitality and upkeep, there is none. I’ve had to speak with insensitive and impolite associates, I’ve had the line cut in my face, and I’ve had to contact this pharmacy repeatedly to ask questions in regard to my medication status only to be met with unexplained delays that have nothing to do with shortage but have everything to do with how they absolutely do NOT care. Thank you Kroger pharmacy on Chapel Hill Rd once again for giving me yet another opportunity to deal with my unbearable cramps, immobilizing back pain, abnormal heavy bleeding, and unending nausea or vomiting or both for yet another week or, possibly, months.

Appalling customer service, they never let you know if there is an issue filling prescriptions "waiting for clairty" and contacts neither the doctor the patient. Have to call to check on your prescription, they tell you an hour you get there and they dont have it in stock. These people are completely useless.

This pharmacy sucks! Waited over an hour to get told they won’t fill my medication. No legitimate reason was offered, they had it in stock, they just refused. Medically retired Army Veteran, that is denied medication. 100% legitimate prescription. It felt a lot like discrimination based on the medication. I was profiled based on the name of the medication. According to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) this is a violation of my rights. Not only that but what the pharmacist did, denying to fill my medication, in the way it was done it was as if they were “practicing” medicine. Which a pharmacist can NOT do. They are not a licensed medical doctor. This one wasn’t at least, I know of some pharmacists that are also MD’s. So now not only will the pharmacist, assistant pharmacist and store will be reported to the ADA for violating my rights. The pharmacist is also going to be reported the the Medical Board of GA for practicing medicine without a valid license, which by the way is a felony. It can result in very large fines, a long prison sentence and also revocation of pharmacist license. It can be any or all three in any combination. There is also a few other places I could report them for this, but those are the two big ones. This is not the only one in my area that did this. I have a list of nearly 20 local pharmacies that denied filling my legal prescription. These will all be reported to the ADA as well. This just adds fuel to the fire of the class action suit that is trying to get up and running. This law suit is against multiple big chain pharmacies. It is all public record. Look up and article called “When legitimate prescriptions are illegally denied.” It is written by an MD that is also a pharmacist. He is the advocate for reporting incidents like this one. This is not about Kroger pharmacies, you may also want to have a look at Walgreens internal “Responsible Dispensing Practice.” This document was never supposed to be made public, but a former Walgreens pharmacist that felt the policy was unjust leaked it. It happened in Illinois, but the policy is company and nationwide. Some of the so called “Red Flag” identifiers they check for will blow your mind. Remember, this is a form that the pharmacist filled out about you, without your knowledge or approval. It opened my eyes to the way big corps operate sometimes. But I digress. Back to the review for this Kroger Pharmacy, that has been reported to the ADA, before this post was edited. This place needs a little compassion, and more intelligent employees. WORST PHARMACY IN METRO ATLANTA AREA PERIOD! Don’t even waste your time.

VERY RUDE ! ! I changed to this pharmacy because this is the Kroger I like the best. Their prices were better with my GoodRX Discount, but once I transferred getting them to apply the discount has been a constant problem, EVERY MONTH! And, it doesn't do any good to try and call you'll be on eternal hold OF THEY ANSWER! And 80% of the time, even though it's only 530 or 6 they'll have the drive- thru closed and I'll have to go inside just to stand in line for 30 minutes.
