Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I have been at this pharmacy since moving here 10years ago. I had several bad experiences with a couple of employees with this location who were not only not willing to NOT be helpful, but were down right rude. I let it go and still kept my prescriptions here. However, today calling after I got a text that my refill was not available AND UNKNOWN WHEN IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE… I called Kroger to get an explanation and I got a man (or boy) who was rude and unwilling to divulge any info on what was going on, I got fed up, hung up and called Publix pharmacy, who was kind and helpful to fill me in on what was going on that it was a nation wide problem, which I appreciated the info and gladly after 10yrs will transfer all my medications to Publix because they obviously have kinder and more informed employees who are willing to explain any nation wide shortages with me!! Info is power and Kroger at Hickory Flat I have had enough of your ride employees. 3rd time and I am gone!!!!

This is an excellent pharmacy. The pharmacists are all kind and personable, and I attribute their professionalism to the leadership of the pharmacy manager. I can’t recall her name but she has long red hair and she provides excellent customer service and truly exceeds expectations. Kudos to everyone at this pharmacy and keep up the awesome work!!

Horrible!!!! Hurtful!!!! Hurtful!!!! Horrible!!!! Horrible!!!!! Very very racist and nasty towards black people. Please close this racist place down. I spoken with an employee over the phone and they said they had my medication. I then drove there to pick it up, Well the white lady looked at me as 🤢 disgusting and said they didn't have my medication. A second white lady came to the counter/ head manager looked at me with disgust and frowns in her face. She gave me my prescription back they didn't even look it up at all. This was the same manager who rudely one time before hurriedly rudely rush my prescription to the counter nastyly didn't want to put it in my hand as l reached for it. She acted like I had a disease or if I was vomit.I don't understand l placed it in your hands 👐 with courtesy why can't you do the same for me. As I have been going there they are always nasty and very very rude!!!! How can you tell someone we have your medication and when you get there they tell you we don't have it. Well I also notified Kroger manager of this, Shame on these folks so Pathetic. They need a whole new staffing, Close this racist Kroger Pharmacy Down. It's been at least 10 months and never has my medication.I know it's because I reported their rude behaviors before. The date is the 12/4/23 time 12:53 noon. 🤔 Thinking of getting ⚖ legal help. Have a lawyer look into if Kroger Pharmacy sold the medication l used that day, While being Discriminating to me telling me they didn't have it. Sad as they clearly told me they have it. Please anyone help me, l really really need advice.
