Pure Barre has been one of the best decisions I've ever made for my health and wellness. From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed into an amazing community. The instructors are knowledgeable, hands-on, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping every member succeed.
I love the variety of classes—they keep every workout fresh, challenging, and fun. Since joining, I've seen incredible improvements in my strength, endurance, and overall fitness. Even more importantly, I've noticed a positive change in my mental well-being and confidence.
Pure Barre has truly been a blessing in my life. It's so much more than a workout—it's a supportive community that motivates and inspires me to be my best. I highly recommend Pure Barre to anyone looking for a workout that transforms both your body and your mind.

It pains me to have to update this review of PBWS because I genuinely love Pure Barre.
After multiple car accidents left me with permanent disabilities, I searched for an exercise routine that would help me get stronger and reduce—if not eliminate—my reliance on pain medication just to get through the day. Quite honestly, I credit the years I spent at PBWS with helping me recover far better after my 2022 accident, when a driver ran a red light and T-boned me. PBWS was there for me throughout that recovery and helped make me stronger every day.
I've been a member of this studio for more than seven years and have seen it through four different owners. Before John Martin purchased this and several other studios, PBWS felt like home. Under Jamie's ownership, I was even certified to teach. While teaching ultimately wasn't the right fit for me, I always felt like this was my studio.
Unfortunately, that feeling has changed.
Under the current ownership, the studio has declined significantly. Classes have been cut back—supposedly because of summer schedules, though this is my seventh year here and that has never been a major issue before. The reality seems to be that the studio is struggling to staff classes consistently. They also let go of one of their best instructors, and members were given little explanation beyond "they parted ways."
The studio has also struggled to attract and retain great teachers. That said, I want to recognize the incredible instructors who continue to show up and make the experience worthwhile: Evann, Kimberly, Liz, Kristen, Stella, Melanie, and Katy. These are the teachers I regularly take class with, and their dedication, professionalism, and positivity are a huge part of why I still come. If any of them left, I would be devastated.
What saddens me most is the loss of community. Emily Warden worked incredibly hard to build something special at PBWS, and for years it truly felt like a welcoming, supportive home. Today, that sense of connection is largely gone.
To make matters worse, there is no studio manager. If you have a concern, there is no clear person to contact. I requested to speak with the lead teacher for John's district and never received a response. For a studio facing significant challenges, the lack of communication and accountability is frustrating.
The workout itself remains excellent. The classes are still effective, and I strongly believe every format has value in a well-rounded routine. Unfortunately, PBWS also falls short here by not offering enough variety or enough Empower/Reform classes.
I am deeply disappointed that the franchise has allowed things to reach this point.
I still love Pure Barre. And PBWS will always feel like home to me. But lately, it feels more like a place I used to know than the community I loved for so many years. That makes me genuinely sad.
Until meaningful changes are made—stronger leadership, better communication, and a renewed focus on community—I would encourage prospective members to consider other studios or at least explore locations that are not under the same ownership.
