Buying prescription glasses is a significant decision, especially when you’re spending around $300 on something you’ll wear every day for the next two years. I expected the staff to take some time to make sure I was comfortable with my choice and actually getting what I wanted. Instead, I felt pressured to make a decision quickly and move on to the purchase. There was very little effort to slow things down, discuss my options, or make sure I was genuinely happy with the frames and lenses I selected. I ultimately left feeling like completing the sale was more important than making sure I was satisfied with what I was buying. For a purchase this personal and expensive, I expected a much more attentive and customer-focused experience. The product isn't terrible, but it's not exactly what I ultimately wanted. This is what I get from straying away from Costco Optical. Wanted to add this edit: at the store I brought up my astigmatism to the sales rep and asked her to measure the focal point of the lenses against where my pupils sit. She told me it wouldn't be necessary. My new lenses arrived today and surprise, surprise: the focal point is misaligned. Anyone with an astigmatism can tell you how annoying this is. I will be replacing the lenses, but again, just an unnecessary waste of time and gas, had the rep done better.
