At the time I needed an eye exam to renew my contact prescription, I was going to Walmart Vision Center, but due to losing my insurance, I was calling around to see who had a lower cost as I was paying out of pocket. Over the phone with Target I was quoted $80-100. I arrived for my appointment and was already taken back as I was waiting over 15 minutes for the employees to stop their personal conversation to attend to the patients. Afterwards, I was told the cost was $256 - much higher than what I was quoted. When I asked why the price was higher, the young girl told me it was “per eye”. I had left without the contact fitting as the females doing my exam were not professional and they made me feel very uncomfortable. I reached out to Customer Sevice, in which they had me fill out a form and advised me the store would get back to me - after 6 months as reached out again with still no response. I had submitted 3 customer forms since July 2025 and still have yet to hear from this store, which led me to write a review.

My insurance covers standards contact lens exam so I decided to do contacts for my daughter and they never explained or brought up that they now only do premium contact exams and called me the next day saying I owed them money. That is absolutely unacceptable, they need to tell their patients, please beware before this happens to you. Then not to mention the person that took care of us yesterday at first said we didn’t have the prescription approval then turns out that we did. He had us under someone else until he finally figured it out, it was just a mess and I will definitely not be going back.
