  ⭐⭐ Google Review I am giving this particular Target Optical location 2 stars based solely on my personal experience here. I went to this location for my routine eye examination using my EyeMed insurance. I was informed that this particular location requires retinal imaging and that there would be an additional out-of-pocket charge because my insurance did not cover that service. I specifically declined the retinal imaging and explained that I only wanted the routine eye examination covered under my EyeMed benefits. I was then told that I could not schedule or receive my eye examination at this location unless I agreed to the retinal imaging and paid the additional charge. I declined and left without receiving my eye examination. After leaving, I contacted EyeMed directly. EyeMed confirmed that my routine eye examination has a $0 copay and that refraction and dilation are included as components of my comprehensive eye examination. EyeMed also could not find coverage under my plan for the separate retinal imaging service. I later called this specific Target Optical location to clarify what happened. During that call, the representative specifically told me, “At this location, we do the retinal imaging.” I want to make it clear that I am reviewing only this particular location and my personal experience there. I am not saying that this is the practice at every Target Optical location. My issue is not that retinal imaging is offered or that there is an additional charge for a non-covered service. My issue is that I declined the additional service and was not permitted to receive my routine eye examination at this location without it. I have formally documented my experience with EyeMed and requested that the matter be reviewed. I will receive my routine eye examination from another EyeMed in-network provider.

  I walked in and was immediately greeted by Robert. I told him I needed to get a new pair of frames and lenses and he told me about the 20% off promo plus the additional discount for Target circle members. WOW, talk about a white glove experience. Thank you for helping me find spring hinge frames and making my orders seem less. This is why I comeback to Target Optical year after year. Thank you again Robert for your professionalism, knowledge, friendliness, and willingness to help. You make a difference!
