Worst experience ever! My daughter fractured her arm and they put a sling on it instead of casting it. I was told to call back to schedule an appointment for them to cast it within a week. I called every day for a week just for them to not ever answer. Left multiple vm and the one time I got a callback I was told the next available appointment would not until 2 weeks out. I ended up having to take her to the emergency room because they wrapped her arm so poorly that it became extremely swollen. Unless your child has something minor like a damn cold, I do not recommend going. This place is negligent!!

I’ve visited Nicklaus Children’s Urgent Care in Miramar several times, and I’ve always had a good experience. This is the second time my child has been seen by Elina, PA, and both times she has been wonderful—kind, patient, and great at explaining everything clearly while making my child feel comfortable. I also want to recognize Melissa and Grace, RN, for being helpful and attentive during our visit. Great care overall! āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø

WORST Experience ever😢. I was very disappointed with our experience at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. My 19-month-old was there because she had a fever for days and they needed to get a urine sample. The nurse tried to place the catheter three times. The third time, I asked her if she was in the right position, and she was not. So, why she kept pushing?. That is when I asked her to stop and not touch the baby anymore. After she screamed so bad, and was struggling to catch her breath. When I cleaned the baby afterward, I noticed a little blood, she was hurt. I am a nurse myself, and I understand that catheterizing a small child can be difficult. I also understand that everyone can need help sometimes. There is nothing wrong with asking another nurse to help. It doesn’t mean you are a bad nurse or that you are not professional. I just don’t think a 19-month-old is the time or place to keep trying when you are not sure about what you are doing. The baby was screaming and very scared, and the whole experience was very traumatic for her and for us. What also really bothered me was hearing nurses laughing loudly outside while we were dealing with a very stressful situation and our baby was crying. I understand nurses need to talk and have their moments, but that was not the time or place. The catheter was never successfully done, and we decided to leave. I really hope this experience is taken seriously because children deserve to feel safe and cared for, especially when they are already sick and scared.

I have been to this urgent care multiple times, and unfortunately the experience has become increasingly frustrating because the policies seem to change every visit. One of the biggest issues is the registration process. Sometimes you’re told to wait before registering, other times you’re asked to register immediately, but you can’t complete certain forms until after your child has already been seen. It makes no sense to be asked to sign a consent to treatment after the treatment has already been provided. Consent should be obtained before any medical care begins. The process is also very inefficient. After waiting in the lobby and then waiting again in the exam room, parents are always sent back to the registration desk to sign additional paperwork and pay the copay after the visit is essentially over. This creates unnecessary delays and confusion. Another recurring problem is the wait time. On multiple occasions, we’ve waited well over an hour in the exam room because more serious patients were prioritized. I completely understand that emergencies must come first, but if the facility is consistently unable to treat patients in a reasonable timeframe due to higher-acuity cases, families should be informed of the expected delay or advised whether the emergency room would be more appropriate for those patients. Sitting in an exam room for over an hour with a sick child, without updates, is frustrating. Overall, the lack of consistency, inefficient administrative process, and excessive wait times have made what should be a straightforward urgent care visit much more stressful than it needs to be. I hope the clinic reviews its procedures and improves communication with families.
