We have always chosen to buy our glasses here because of the quality of the products and the service, and we have spent a significant amount of money with this company over the years. Unfortunately, my experience today was very disappointing. While paying for my purchase, I used a legitimate U.S. $100 bill from an older design. I am from Argentina, and the employee assisting me—a tall man whose name I don’t remember—looked at the bill, turned to a coworker, and said, “the Spanish dollar,” while laughing. I found this comment disrespectful and discriminatory. My nationality, accent, or the type of valid U.S. bill I used should never be the subject of a joke. Whether it was intended as humor or not, it made me feel unwelcome and embarrassed. I have always had a very positive opinion of Warby Parker, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I hope the company reminds its staff of the importance of treating every customer with respect and professionalism, regardless of where they come from.
