That hospital only cares about looking good to the public and not the staff. The CICU unit is awful. Especially the nurse manager Sorcele Apolinario. She comes around asking us parents questions with guest services to see how her nurses are doing just to talk poorly to them later. I witnessed it first hand looking out my room window. She is very nasty to them and boy do they go out of their way for their patients. I’ve been admitted with my kid numerous times and she never steps in to help the patients or nurses instead she calls other nurses who are already busy to help her so she can walk away and go to her office. I’m surprised a good institution has yet to fire her. She’s maybe been there 3-4 years no more and I have seen newer nurses every time and all the senior nurses gone. One thing to note, it’s always the senior nurses who have been around for over 6 years or so on that unit that get all the sick patients including mine when we went to the OR. Never any other nurses. That manager doesn’t know how to rotate her staff. I feel bad for those nurses and recommend them firing that manager or for those nurses to go elsewhere where they are appreciated. Just know we appreciate all the nurses. This review has been long overdue. I will be transitioning to another institution to have my child get care somewhere else.

My experience at Nicklaus Children's Hospital has been truly exceptional. My first appointments with the ENT department, Neurologist Carla Novo, and the radiology department were all very good. However, today, this doctor truly moved me. A genetic test was initially performed for my child, but it led to an important discovery about my own health. I am deeply grateful to Thelma A. Sugranes, MD, FACMG for her professionalism, empathy, and the clarity of her explanations. She created a safe and supportive environment during a very personal and emotional moment. This level of care and attention is rare. She embodies what the world truly needs today: empathy, compassion, and genuine humanity. My heartfelt thanks to the entire team. I highly recommend this Hospital.

We never would have imagined that at just 24 hours old our son would be transferred to Nicklaus Children’s and then at just 6 days old he would have surgery. We couldn’t have asked for a better medical team! The compassion, patience, support, explanations from the drs that we can understand and the staff that were on the CCICU, made it a little easier. They truly care about their patients and the families. A BIG THANK YOU to our surgeon Dr. Kalfa and his surgical team and a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and the staff on the 2nd floor. Everyone was wonderful but the names below were the ones with us the week and we can’t be more thankful for them! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Thank you to: Dr. Marinez Dr. Santana Dr. Hobbs Jessica Arnp Mel Arnp Lisa Arnp Nurses: Frank Ricardo Ketia Nattaly Mel Shannon Jorge Jamie -respiratory Kelly- Echo Tech You all will always have a special place in our hearts for the care and compassion my son and we received while we were there, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

If you think having a premature sick baby is your worst nightmare, wait until you walk into the emergency room at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. That’s when the real nightmare begins. There is a complete lack of communication between departments and floors. No one knows anything, no one gives clear answers, and hours go by while your anxiety keeps growing. You end up begging for basic information about your own baby. Multiple times, nurses had to personally take us to different floors because no one was expecting us. Everything felt unorganized and improvised. My 45-day-old baby was hospitalized for 5 days, and this was the worst experience I’ve had in 23 years living in the United States. The conditions were unacceptable: - Very limited diapers - Towels and wipes were counted and even opened - Not enough formula; you have to constantly ask to make sure your baby doesn’t go without feeding - I was discharged without formula to continue at home Doctors only come once a day, and they don’t provide real answers. They just say they are waiting on tests or that another specialist needs to evaluate. Meanwhile, parents are left stressed, confused, and emotionally drained. At one point, they gave my baby a formula mixture they prepared themselves because they didn’t have the one my baby needs, and even oatmeal in a coffee cup with a plastic spoon. I couldn’t believe it. I have evidence of this. No one prepares you for staying there. You end up sleeping on a chair and having to ask for basic items like pillows, sheets, or even hygiene products. Not all staff were like this, but a large portion showed lack of empathy, poor attitude, and little interest in helping. Out of over 100 employees I saw, maybe 5 or 6 were actually professional and helpful. I left the hospital without formula, only with a recipe to prepare it at home, with no immediate support for the transition. This is not the level of care anyone expects from a children’s hospital. I do not recommend this place. 0%. Worst experience.
