We had a wonderful experience with our son’s original provider. He was compassionate, listened to our concerns, and we felt like he genuinely cared about helping him. Unfortunately, our experience with the office itself has been extremely disappointing. Our son was supposed to have a follow-up appointment two weeks after starting a new ADHD medication, but our provider left the practice and no one informed us. We only found out when we called. Instead of ensuring continuity of care, we were simply assigned to a new provider almost a month later. Another frustrating issue is scheduling. Appointments are frequently scheduled without checking our availability, and we’re simply sent an email with the appointment date and time. If the appointment doesn’t work and we have to call to reschedule, the front office staff have consistently been rude and dismissive. During several calls, staff audibly sighed or huffed, sounded annoyed, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing them simply by asking for help. While waiting for our next appointment, our son experienced concerning behavioral changes after starting a new medication. We reached out several times seeking guidance but instead of feeling heard, we repeatedly felt like our concerns were brushed aside because there were no appointments available. As a parent, it’s incredibly stressful to feel like you’re not being listened to when your child is struggling. The providers may be excellent, but the communication, scheduling process, and customer service from the front office need significant improvement. Families managing pediatric mental health concerns deserve timely communication, continuity of care, and compassionate treatment. I truly hope the practice addresses these issues because they have the potential to provide excellent care, but the office experience has overshadowed what was initially a very positive experience.

Lisa is a professional person she explains well to me about my condition while explaining the medications that I am taking to my mom so she can understand how they work. Also she is kind, happy, and great attitude.

I’ve been taking the same medication my entire adult life. My mental health is #1 to me & I’ve even written a book in the past year about the transformation within myself since incorporating simple self-care practices. From our first meeting, the tone of the entire conversation changed when I told him I was diagnosed with ADHD at 13. Apparently today for my refill appt, he noticed a drug prescribed by my family physician has a potential interaction so he is unwilling to prescribe the medication that I NEED until the 14 days of (unnecessary for mental health) other medication runs out. I understand rules & regulations & I would not ask any professional to bend those, however telling me to go ahead & Baker Act myself due to his decision to make me wait extra 14 days for refill sounds extremely unjust & not the level of care I am used to or that will work as a busy mom & business owner.

He is the best! Eu amei minha consulta. É sempre muito difícil falar sobre problemas ou estar confortável nas consultas, mas, me senti acolhida e ele foi muito simpático e profissional comigo. Respondeu as minhas dúvidas e foi muito atencioso. Recomendo!! Obrigada Dr. Nathaniel Kalil!

I had my initial visit with Dr. Oliva today and left feeling extremely offended. I will start by saying I have a regular psychiatrist I visit virtually, who I have been seeing for a little over 3 years now. My regular psychiatrist cannot prescribe controlled substances as he's virtual, which I understood and have obviously been fine with seeing as I have been with him for multiple years. I needed to get in touch with a physical doctor to begin the process of receiving treatment for my ADHD. I was diagnosed back in 2020 and tried a non-stimulant medication due to heart palpitations and heart rate issues. Unfortunately, those didn't work after giving them a few months. I came off of them in 2021 and have not taken anything for my ADHD since. I am also on a depression and anxiety medication now and have been for years, Dr. Oliva repeatedly told me that the medication I take is off label used for ADHD so if I'm not seeing improvement it may not be ADHD really. Which, isn't even clinically accurate. He also said that he doesn't believe women present differently than men clinically in ADHD. Which again, as far as I was aware wasn't a subjective opinion, but was a known fact in the field that women do. Overall I felt that he was treating me as a drug seeker, and making me jump through hoops to get medication that I desperately need. Despite me giving everything else a try, going through rigorous cardiac testing to make sure I can even take a stimulant. He even went as far to say that if I'm "not on any performance plan at work and this isn't impacting my daily life" it's not something to address right now really and to explore other routes. He never even asked, if he did he'd have known that I was in fact on a performance plan at work because of this AND it drastically impacts my daily life. I can't not recommend enough.
