From the initial phone call to the store, through the entire experience in the store, it was the most pleasant buying experience for eyeglasses I have ever experienced, thanks primarily to Daniel. Daniel answered the phone when I called to inquire about frames for my son and was very helpful and pleasant. We visited the store the following day and the other folks working in the store were also very pleasant and helpful. Daniel did an incredible job working with my teenage son to help him get comfortable with a new frame, that he would enjoy wearing. Even my son was impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of Daniel! We never felt pressured into buying anything with Daniel. That's a welcome change from previous experiences buying glasses elsewhere.

I went in with a simple request: to purchase lenses for my existing frames only. I was not buying new frames.
From the beginning, I was told I had to create a profile, which I agreed to. I was then told I was required to take a facial photo for their system to measure my face. This was presented as a mandatory step, only to later find out that manual measurements were actually possible.
I declined the facial photo. After a back-and-forth discussion lasting several minutes, the same representative eventually agreed to let another employee perform manual measurements instead.
Oftentimes, companies can make customers feel as though they are expected to comply with data collection or image-based processes without question, even when alternatives exist—even when they are not necessary for the service being requested.
When you decline, you are made feel as if you are being “difficult” or you are a problem rather than simply trying to complete a purchase while maintaining your own privacy boundaries.
I then waited again for assistance. When the next representative came over, I was told they could not help me because my existing glasses did not qualify for lenses due to it not having screws, which made sense but still disappointing nonetheless.
After that, they said I could still get lens but for different frame, and at that point I requested a quote. After that, I was told I would need a doctor-verified prescription entered into their system in order to receive a quote, even though I already had valid prescription numbers and did not have doctor-signed prescription paperwork with me. This requirement felt unnecessary and confusing, since prescription numbers already come directly from licensed eye exams and are not something a customer would reasonably fabricate.
Eventually I was given a general quote of around $400 for lenses alone. The pricing felt disproportionate considering I was not purchasing frames, and in my experience, similar lenses are typically available at significantly lower prices elsewhere. This led me to think that the pricing may have been meant to discourage the purchase.
Overall, the experience felt frustrating—starting with pressure around facial imaging and potential biometric data collection, followed by delays, being told service was not possible for my frames, and finally receiving a high quote that did not feel aligned with standard expectations.This was very disappointing because I was excited to work with them as they are one of few companies that craft lens for already purchased frames.
