While the aging process is one of the few things in life that is truly inevitable, you can certainly take steps now to both age well and maintain/regain the vigor from your youth. While treatments like BOTOX Cosmetic can help to soften the signs of aging at a skin-deep level, a healthy lifestyle combined with cutting edge Regenerative Therapy can address aging at the cellular level. The Best Anti-Aging Medicine: Eating Well and Exercising! Sometimes the most healthful measures are the ones we don’t want to take. Eating well, staying active, and limiting the unhealthy habits in your life – adhering to these healthy behaviors are a great way to age well. In advanced age, it’s also important to stay socially connected. All too often our senior citizens become isolated. Stay in touch with old friends and seek out new friendships. It’s an important part of overall wellness. Hormone Therapy Hormones – particularly estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone – naturally decline as we age. These hormonal imbalances are in part responsible for some of the less desirable effects of aging: weight gain, sleeplessness, loss of lean muscle, fatigue, and impaired concentration. By introducing specific hormones into the body, we can level out some of these imbalances. First, blood work will be performed to get accurate levels of your hormones and to see which of your hormones could use a boost. Hormones may be administered via implantable pellets, at-home injections, pills and/or topical creams. Over time, you should start feeling a reduction in the undesirable symptoms listed above as your hormones are replenished. Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, and Peptides Through our use of fully customizable, cutting edge supplements, pharmaceuticals and peptides, we can begin to address some of the multiple causes of cellular aging that are occurring 24 hours per day in all of our cells. Numerous combinations of these advanced treatments can be designed specifically to treat YOU, the patient, based upon both your lab values and your symptoms. Also, those seeking extra help in keeping their skin looking young, or those experiencing hair thinning/hair loss, can have compounds (available only by prescription) ordered and sent directly to their homes. Assessing Your Goals and Treatment Options Arrange a consultation when you are ready to learn more about how anti-aging treatments such as bio-identical hormone replacement, cutting-edge pharmaceuticals, peptides, supplements and superior nutrition can help restore your youthfulness from the inside out!

Your hormones play an important role in how you feel each day. These so-called “messengers” of the body can regulate many different functions and processes, including those related to sleep, metabolism and reproduction. As you age, or as a result of certain health conditions, hormone levels tend to decrease, often dramatically. Especially important are your levels of testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. Yes, these three hormones are present in both men and women, to varying degrees. They all have an outsized impact on how you feel, and maintaining the right balance of these hormones can keep us all feeling energetic and alive. Hormonal decline often leads to a wide array of undesirable outcomes: sleeplessness, fatigue, foggy thinking, low energy, weight gain and loss of lean muscle, among others. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) can restore abnormally low hormone levels in order to improve the way you feel and reduce the negative effects of hormonal decline. What are Bioidentical Hormones? Regenerative medicine practitioners most often utilize bioidentical hormones in their treatment protocols, as differentiated from synthetic hormones. The differences come down to how they are made, what they are made of, and most importantly their molecular structure. Bioidentical hormones are produced in a lab to be identical to naturally occurring hormones, which is why they are favored by regenerative medicine practitioners. They are most often sourced from plants. What do Bioidentical Hormones do? Your doctor may recommend hormone replacement therapy as a way to alleviate: Lack of energy Poor sleep Decreased libido Lack of interest in sex Lack of interest in your favorite activities Weight gain or weight fluctuations Loss of muscle mass Difficulty concentrating Vaginal dryness Hot flashes and PMS High cholesterol High risk of heart disease Loss of bone density Thinning or loss of hair Hormones may be administered in pill form, as a gel or cream, via at home injection, or as an implanted pellet. The dose is based on the symptoms you are seeking to alleviate, as well as your age and health history. Follow-up discussions are very important to monitor how the dose is working or not working for you. Will I Have to Stop Hormone Replacement Therapy at a Certain Age? Not at all! There is no predetermined age at which HRT is no longer safe. As a person ages, they may become more likely to experience certain side effects that are possible with HRT. In those cases, usually all that is required is to lower the HRT dose. Instead, your health care professional will continuously monitor you to ensure that you remain a great candidate for HRT. Are Bioidentical Hormones Only for Women? Absolutely not, in the same way that testosterone is not just for men! Oftentimes, bioidentical hormones are offered as a remedy for many of the numerous changes that can be caused by menopause/"manopause".

An Intra-Muscular injection (abbreviated as "IM") is an injection of a medicine directly into a muscle, after which it immediately gets absorbed into the human bloodstream. This is a very convenient way to get some very powerful compounds DIRECTLY into the bloodstream, without the need to start a (potentially painful) IV to deliver these medications. Some examples of compounds that can be delivered via the IM route are vitamins (such as Vitamin B12), peptides that can assist with lean muscle gain, longevity, immunity, and "brain fog", as well as substances that can aid in accelerating weight loss. Advantages of IM Injections A tremendous advantage of delivering these compounds via the IM route is that they do NOT depend on the body's ability to absorb the medications through the gastrointestinal ("GI") tract. There are a multitude of conditions that can lead to poor GI absorption of both foods and medications, including prior bariatric surgery for weight loss, inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, as well auto-immune disorders such as Celiac Disease. At De-Senesce, we can provide you with the knowledge to decide if IM injections are right for you, in addition to either administering the medications for you here in our office, or providing you with the instruction and the tools you need to do it yourself.

What Are Peptides and What Are Their Potential Benefits? Peptides are short chains of amino acids that are the building blocks of proteins. They are essential for many biological processes in the body, including cell growth and repair, hormone secretion, and regulation of the immune system. They can also stimulate the body's natural healing process, and can rejuvenate many areas of the body, including the brain, the musculoskeletal system and the skin. How Often Do You Need Peptide Injections? There is no 'one size fits all' answer to this question, as the frequency of peptide injections will vary depending on the individual's needs. Peptide injections can potentially help improve athletic performance, increase muscle mass and reduce excess body fat. They can also be used to help address conditions such as joint pain and sexual dysfunction, and some are currently being studied for their ability to slow down the aging process itself! The frequency of peptide injections will also depend on the specific peptide chosen. Some peptides may need to be injected daily, while others can be injected once or twice per week. Book a Peptide Therapy Consultation Today If you're interested in learning more about peptide therapy and how it could possibly help you, be sure to speak with Dr. Spinowitz to determine if peptide therapy is right for you. Book a consultation with us today and we'd be happy to answer any of your questions on this exciting new therapy.

If you’ve ever tried to lose a significant amount of weight, you know it’s never quite as simple as the antiquated “calories in, calories out” advice. In reality, your energy level, appetite, stressors, hormones, metabolism, and other factors influence how easy or difficult it is to lose excess body fat. When diet and exercise alone aren’t enough, semaglutide injections overseen by a medical professional can help you achieve a healthy weight. What Is Semaglutide? Sold under the brand names Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Rybelsus®, semaglutide is a prescription medication for both type 2 diabetes and long-term weight management. Available in injectable and tablet form, this drug works by mimicking a hormone called glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) which the body naturally produces to regulate hunger and blood sugar levels. Semaglutide helps your body produce more insulin when your blood sugar levels are too high. It also works in the GI tract by slowing gastric motility, which means food stays in your stomach longer and prolongs the feeling of fullness. For that reason, it can be a great weight loss aid. Can I Take Semaglutide if I Am Not Diabetic? Semaglutide was developed as an antidiabetic medication, but you don’t need to have type 2 diabetes to experience the benefits. A randomized controlled trial from 2021 found semaglutide was an effective weight loss drug for overweight and obese non-diabetic adults. It may also lower your risk of obesity-related conditions like heart attack and stroke. How Do I Use Semaglutide for Weight Loss? Semaglutide can be administered subcutaneously or orally. The dose will vary depending on the brand and the individual. Typically, adults taking Wegovy for chronic weight management inject 2.4 mg once weekly. However, adjustments can be made as needed under medical guidance. What Should I Do if I Forget a Dose of Semaglutide? While the following recommendations may be helpful, you should ask your provider for specific instructions. If you miss an Ozempic injection, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, you should skip the dose if it’s been more than five days since you missed the injection. If you’re using Wegovy, you can take the missed dose as soon as possible as long as your next dose is more than two days away. Otherwise, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. You shouldn’t double your injections to make up for a missed one. Missing a dose of Rybelsus works differently. Rather than taking the missed dose as soon as possible, you should skip it and take the next tablet when you usually would. If you’re consistently missing oral doses of semaglutide, it could help to switch to an injectable form. What Side Effects Can This Medication Cause? Semaglutide is a safe and effective medication for many people struggling with weight loss or type 2 diabetes management. However, potential side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, heartburn, constipation, or burping. In rare cases, semaglutide can cause serious side effects, some of which may require medical attention. That said, adverse reactions are usually limited to mild gastrointestinal upset, but we've designed a specialized supplement that can help with these potential issues.
