I took my 2-year-old child to the hospital with a positive Strep A test, fever, swollen glands, white patches in the throat .Despite these symptoms, the hospital did not provide proper treatment or clear guidance. I felt dismissed and very concerned for my child’s health. Parents deserve better care, communication, and attention when a young child is sick.

Great place caring staff. Dr. was competent and caring, but difficult to understand, broken English. My wife's family is Latino and living and working in Miami Dsde for last 26 years,so I've heard every version of broken English from all cultures. He was competent doctor just we had to wait for nurse to explain everything in English.

They just try to get you out without trying to get down to the root of the problem. They really don’t care about the patient. I bought my 8 month old son and they were so inconsiderate of his health . They made me feel like I didn’t know enough when I’ve never experienced an issue like this. Just rude n defensive when you start to question what they even did to solve the problem . The whole nursing staff need to go thru a new updated training on how to talk to patients, how to not give discharge papers without some type of solution for the illness, and most importantly proper social skills and most importantly “care” for patients.

My expectations were high when I decided to visit the nearby Nicklaus Children’s Hospital urgent care in Homestead, as I’ve always had great experiences with this hospital and its focus on children. I was actually glad when a location opened closer to home. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the registration staff was not welcoming. I completed the check-in process and paid my $75 copay, then brought my son in because I strongly suspected he had strep throat—he had visible white spots in the back of his throat, significant swelling, and a fever up to 103.4°F. During triage, the nurse even mentioned she would be surprised if it wasn’t strep. However, after they performed a swab, the doctor came in briefly, spoke very quickly, and told me the test was negative. When I shared my concerns, they were dismissed. He did not even re-examine my son’s throat before making his decision. Another nurse later came in and appeared concerned about his temperature but still disregarded what I was saying. I was told my son did not need antibiotics and was discharged. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts and took him to his pediatrician. As soon as she examined his throat, she said it was clearly strep, confirmed it with another swab, and started him on antibiotics right away. For a hospital that specializes in children, I expected a higher level of care and attentiveness. Children often struggle to express how they feel, which makes it even more important for providers to take the time to properly examine them. That did not happen here. This was a very disappointing experience. I would not return or recommend this urgent care. Parents should trust their instincts—if something doesn’t feel right, seek a second opinion. In this case, it made all the difference.
