Bright Minds PPEC

Bright Minds PPEC provides individualized skilled nursing care for children with complex medical needs, including medication administration, G-tube feeding, tracheostomy care, oxygen management, vital-sign monitoring, and ongoing health assessments based on each child’s prescribed plan of care. Our certified team coordinates with families, physicians, and therapy providers to promote medical stability, comfort, safety, and developmental progress while children participate in educational, social, and age-appropriate activities at our Homestead PPEC center.

Bright Minds PPEC coordinates closely with each child’s primary care provider, specialists, therapists, and family to support a smooth transition into our Pediatric Prescribed Extended Care program. Individualized care plans integrate skilled pediatric nursing, prescribed treatments, therapy coordination, and age-appropriate developmental activities under the oversight of our medical director, a board-certified pediatrician, to promote continuity of care, safety, and overall well-being.

Bright Minds PPEC offers structured, age-appropriate activities that encourage social interaction, cognitive development, communication, and emotional growth for children with complex medical needs. Combined with skilled pediatric nursing care, these engaging activities provide holistic support in a safe, medically supervised environment where children can learn, play, build relationships, and develop essential life skills.

Bright Minds PPEC offers a designated on-site space where each child’s personal therapists can provide services in coordination with their medical care plan. Physical therapy supports strength, balance, and mobility; occupational therapy promotes fine motor skills and greater independence in daily activities; and speech therapy addresses communication, language, swallowing, and feeding needs. This coordinated approach helps children with complex medical needs receive therapeutic support alongside skilled pediatric nursing care in a familiar, medically supervised environment.

Bright Minds PPEC provides nutritious meals and snacks based on each child’s individualized care plan, dietary needs, allergies, and prescribed feeding requirements. Children with feeding difficulties or specialized nutritional needs receive appropriate support from our skilled pediatric nursing team, including assistance with oral feeding or G-tube feeding as ordered. Mealtimes also encourage communication, social interaction, independence, and other age-appropriate developmental skills in a safe, medically supervised environment.

Bright Minds PPEC offers convenient door-to-door transportation for eligible children throughout Miami-Dade. Our trained transportation team uses appropriately equipped vehicles designed to support children with complex medical needs, helping them travel safely to and from our center for skilled pediatric nursing care, therapy coordination, and developmental activities.
