  In the search for a good local dentist that included research, educational backgrounds, reviews my attention was brought to Smooth Sailing Dental - Dr. Roger Long. I have multiple issues, consisting of implants, gum disease, cleanings 4x a year, grinding, etc; therefore, it was very important that I find a local dentist that could handle my entire dental program. First, I was very impressed with the initial contact and how complete and professional the administrative staff was to start the process of receiving care. They worked with me to get my records transferred, reviewed my insurance to make sure I would be covered, worked around my schedule for the initial appointment, and every person I needed to talk to besides being professional and knowledgeable in their positions, was kind, helpful, and concerned. Now, the initial visit. Dr. Long was thorough in his examination, and I mean VERY thorough. I felt so confident with the way he examined every possible oral issue, and I had a small chip on an implant, and MOST 99% of dentist would have said replace it and handed you a bill for $ 6,000.00. Dr. Long expressed an honest opinion that it was a very small chip, in an area of non-concern, so if it wasn't bothering me, to leave it be. This really impressed me, as I knew it was not getting debris behind the implant, and it was not causing me an issue of any kind, so for him to be so forthcoming and honest with me, was very impressive. I also need a night guard for grinding, and I have an existing one, but it is very uncomfortable, and instead of expressing, let's replace, Dr. Long recommended to have his staff look at it and evaluate how they could make the existing guard more comfortable. I was TRULY IMPRESSED with this, as it is not only a kindness to be honest and forthright with clients...it is such a thing of the PAST!!! That all being said, could not be more impressed with the administrative staff, the dental assistants, and Dr. Long's thorough examination, honesty, professionalism, and considerations offered to keep the dental expenses to a minimum, as I am a senior citizen, and we are ALL on very tight budgets at retirement. Thank you to everyone at Smooth Sailing Dental - so GLAD I made the move. I feel very well taken care of for my Dental concerns and need!! E. Mulderrig

  Recently switched dentists due to no longer trusting my previous dentist. I recommend them 100%. Wish I had switched sooner!! Smooth Sailing Dental did a thorough examination, requested records, and has always been easily available for communications, allaying my concerns. From the receptionist, Jo, to xray and dental technicians, Dr Albite and staff reassured me of what was necessary. I look forward to continuing with them regarding my dental needs.
