I am a long-time Club Pilates member nearing 200 classes, and I am reporting a serious breakdown in professionalism and member handling at the Coral Springs location - 4388 N State Road 7, Coral Springs.
As an unlimited member, I was eager to try the new Coral Springs location that recently opened. When I Googled "Coral Springs club Pilates," the search took me to the location I visited today, which, unbeknownst to me, was not the correct one under my membership that I signed up for.
On 5.27.26, I arrived for the 10am class, provided my name at check-in per usual process at Club Pilates, and was acknowledged and allowed into class with no issue. Only AFTER the class was completed was I informed that I “was not on the list.” At that point, instead of taking accountability for the check-in error, the receptionist became confrontational, demanded a $25 fee, and escalated the situation to a threat of calling the police when I refused to pay for a mistake that occurred on their end.
Despite multiple requests for basic escalation, I was initially refused a manager and only after persistence was one contacted. The manager immediately confirmed I did NOT owe any fee, yet I was still told I am no longer welcome at that location because I initially refused to pay the $25. I was VERY professional and ensured I kept a calm tone through out the interaction, especially since I noticed her initial tone.
This is unacceptable on multiple levels: incorrect check-in handling, inappropriate escalation, threats involving police over a non-criminal billing dispute, and inconsistent enforcement of policy even after management intervention.
I am requesting that Club Pilates corporate review this incident, including staff training and escalation procedures at this location. This experience reflects poorly on brand standards and member trust, and it should not happen to any paying member.
Update: Since posting this review, the manager has personally reached out to me twice to apologize for the experience. She took responsibility, offered a complimentary class and socks as a gesture of goodwill, and assured me she would address the situation internally. I appreciate her professionalism and willingness to listen. However, while I accept her apology, it does not change the experience I had that day or how I was treated. My hope is that additional training is provided so no other member has a similar experience.
