Located in DC’s Capitol Riverfront neighborhood just south of Capitol Hill and east of Nationals Park. We validate parking: $2/2 hours, $3/3 hours.
Cancelling after 3 years of membership. The final straw was the club renting out the penthouse pool during MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND for a private event. Yes, members pay a fee to access the facility, which they then render unavailable during peak holiday hours so that they can earn dual income on the space.
Additionally, the facility has downgraded over the years. Cleanliness has fallen off, fewer and fewer of the TVs on the treadmill work and the steam room is chronically broken. They also rescinded the free membership they used to provide to instructors (have heard from a friend about the pettiness of this).

There is a receptionist at the front desk who is consistently rude. When asked simple questions, she rolls her eyes and responds in an unprofessional manner. I would not recommend this place as long as she remains at the front desk, unless she receives proper customer service training.

Not worth the money. Steam room never works, management doesn’t care and never responds. Also, they have the nerve to raise rates while amenities have been down and inconsistently working for over a year. Its a shame cause i’ve been a member for over three years but ever since I made the switch from the Ballston to the Yards location, my experience has been completely different.

I’m writing on behalf of my fiance. We were visiting DC for the weekend from Philly (02/15/2026). He walked 30 minutes to the gym from our hotel. When he got there he checked in normally for a day pass and was willing to pay the $45 for the day pass. When he went to tap to pay the tap to pay did not work. He told him to try a debit card and it didn’t work. They don’t take cash but sell products which makes no sense. After the membership manager said it was nothing he could do for him, he proceeded to call people and ask them to come in and get a complimentary 3 day pass. So why wasn’t he offering that to him. Also, another member stated that because my fiance was using tap to pay that he was probably “one of those scammers”. My fiance is a black man, and so was the membership manager. Beware of where you spend your money POC.

0/5 stars: An absolute masterclass in how to ruin a gym.
Vida Fitness – Navy Yard somehow manages to get worse every year while charging premium prices like it’s a luxury club. This place is a case study in awful decision-making, neglect, and complete disregard for members.
Let’s start with the steam room, because it’s basically a running joke at this point. Every time it breaks — which is often — it’s down for months, not days. Months. No timeline, no communication, no accountability. And I’ve met 3 members who said they got ringworms from the steam room due to a lack of cleanliness. For a gym that markets itself as upscale, this is completely unacceptable.
Then there’s the unbelievably stupid decision to remove the spin studio — which conveniently also removed the only genuinely good instructor Vida had. That class was one of the few redeeming qualities of this gym, and management nuked it for no clear reason. If you were someone who actually enjoyed structured, instructor-led classes, congrats — you’re no longer the target audience.
In its place? A turf room. Except here’s the punchline:
• It isn’t allowed to be used for classes
• It’s barely programmed
• And it has not been cleaned once in over a month
The turf is visibly filthy — dusty, grimy, and honestly gross — which is exactly why no one uses it. It’s dead space created by a leadership team that clearly doesn’t work out here and doesn’t listen to members.
The locker rooms and showers are disgusting. I’m talking worse than a college campus gym. Towels constantly run out, the showers feel grimy, and the overall cleanliness is embarrassingly bad for a gym charging these rates. You shouldn’t be hunting for a clean towel or questioning whether the floor was cleaned this week — or this month. And as a gym that claims to value community, diversity and the environment, I found it appalling that there was a shower than ran constantly at a high rate of 2.5 gallons per minute, 24 hours a day, for over a MONTH. This one shower alone wiped out all of the plastic bottles saved by the water fountains in this location from the time the gym opened. I’ve done the math.
Add on the usual Vida classics:
• Indifferent staff
• Poor communication
• Questionable management decisions
• A general sense that once you’ve paid, your experience no longer matters
This gym had potential. It actively chose to squander it. Between broken amenities, dirty facilities, the loss of the only good programming, and unusable spaces replacing functional ones, Vida Navy Yard is absolutely not worth the money.
Save yourself the frustration. There are better gyms, with cleaner locker rooms, functioning steam rooms, and leadership that doesn’t sabotage its own product. If I could give this location a 0/5 I would. I was a founding member, but I wish Equinox or the St. James would open nearby. They would make a killing because this is not a luxury gym. I’ll review City Vista soon (spoiler alert: it ain’t much better).
