I picked up a prescription today at Piney Branch Safeway and would just like to commend the pharmacist, Avani, whose assistance and kindness I rely on. My family and I have been coming here since COVID closed our local pharmacy, and Avani has always gone above and beyond helping us understand complicated drug regimes and insurance. Her patience, even with very impatient customers, is much appreciated. I am grateful Safeway has such a knowledgeable and professional pharmacist.

The Piney Branch Safeway Pharmacy has for years now been our go-to pharmacy for one reason. And that reason is Avani, the wonderful pharmacist who has been a life saver, literally. Not only is she highly professional, skilled and knowledgeable, she is friendly, kind and extremely patient. She also is a determined problem solver who finds a way to get the desired result. I can’t overstate how highly we regard her and have talked with other customers who feel the same.
Even when we are not picking up prescriptions, we always look for Avani’s smile and wave as we pass the pharmacy while shopping. We are so dependent on her for advice and assistance with our medications that I’m not sure we would continue to use this pharmacy if she weren’t there for us.

So I have been picking up my prescriptions for the past year or so. Prior, I never had a reason to go the pharmacy. There’s a pharmacist (she has glasses, hair usually in a ponytail, somewhere in the ballpark of Indian decent or in that area) she has the WORST attitude that I’ve come across in a while. It’s like she doesn’t want to be there and just doesn’t have any ounce of welcoming energy. I tried to give her grace and just hope she was having a bad day but quickly notice that this was my experience every time I get her to help. The other two women are WONDERFUL. I’m not saying she has to be “on” and super jolly energy but damn girl. That mask isn’t hiding what you think it’s hiding. I can still see the demeanor you carry. She needs to work on that or strictly make her non customer facing. Cause why do I feel like that when I’m just picking up my medicine. All that medicine behind you, you better pop a pill and stop bringing misery to everyone else.

This morning I came to the pharmacy to pick up my medicine. For starters the pharmacist who was here today is very rude! This isn’t the first time she’s had an attitude. She seems to especially treat black people like this. She has no manners and is very rude when speaking to you.
The other pharmacists who used to be here never treated me like this and I’ve been coming to this pharmacy for years. This is very disappointing. If you don’t enjoy your job then quit or transfer to another store. Don’t take it out on sickly and paying customers.
She showed no empathy and gave me no solution. Even though someone from her team said my medicine would be ready for pick up. She blamed them for giving out the wrong information and didn’t even take responsibility for a mistake on their behalf.
