I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this office and the way patients were treated. Throughout my visits, I consistently arrived early for my appointments, yet I was frequently left waiting because the office was running behind schedule.
My most concerning experience occurred during my most recent scheduled appointment. I arrived early after driving a significant distance for my appointment and waited with several other patients who had also been waiting for extended periods of time. There were three patients waiting ahead of me, and the office was approaching closing time. During this time, the front desk staff openly discussed wanting to leave in front of patients instead of communicating with us about the delay or the possibility that we may not be seen.
No one informed patients ahead of time that the office was significantly behind schedule or that our appointments might not be completed that day. After waiting 20 minutes, I was told that I could not be seen and that my appointment would not happen. I was presented with a large charge right after arriving despite receiving no medical evaluation, treatment, or assistance during that visit.
I was also uncomfortable with how my privacy was handled. During this same event, front desk staff discussed the reason for my visit and my medical condition loudly enough that other patients in the waiting room could hear. It was embarrassing and made me feel that my privacy was not respected.
What was most disappointing was the lack of communication and effort to help. I was not offered reasonable rescheduling options, and no attempt was made to acknowledge the inconvenience caused by asking patients to wait and then turning them away. After taking time out of my day and driving a considerable distance, I left feeling completely disregarded as a patient.
I understand that delays can happen in healthcare settings, but patients deserve honesty, communication, and respect for their time. My experience with this office left me feeling that patient care and professionalism were not prioritized. I hope this practice acknowledges feedback to improve patient experiences entirely.
