I’ve known Matt for almost a decade, and he’s always held me, others, and his gym to the highest standards. Under his coaching, my bench press went from 95 lbs to over 275 lbs, a testament to how much he pushes you while keeping training smart and sustainable. He laid the foundation for my lifting career and is a big part of why I am where I am today. Beyond fitness knowledge, he taught me lasting life lessons such as punctuality, persistence, and a strong overall work ethic. He welcomes everyone with open arms.

By far the best gym around. Good vibes, solid structured workouts that vary daily, a coach that keeps the place lively. Feels less like a gym and more like a family (but NOT in a cultish cross-fit way)

Been working out with Matt since before Covid. BBM (“Bodies by Matt”) is even more of a vibe than a workout. We always have so much fun. Matt welcomes all ages and at all stages of a fitness journey, as do the other trainers. There are octogenarians working out alongside 12 year olds, the only requirement is a good attitude and a wipe down if you sweat on the equipment! Great workouts + Great fun!!! You go at your own pace and there is no gym bro or babe intimidation.

This past year was the hardest of my life. Between a surgery, an injury, and a string of family traumas I never saw coming, there were stretches where I genuinely didn't know how I was going to get through the next week — let alone the next month. What I can say, with complete certainty, is that Westside Bodybuilding got me through it.
It wasn't just a gym to show up to. It was the thing I looked forward to when nothing else felt steady. On the days I was recovering, hurting, grieving, or just hollowed out, knowing I had Westside to walk into gave me something to hold onto. Hope, honestly. A reason to keep moving, in every sense of the word.
So much of that comes down to Matt McMahon. Matt is the kind of trainer you hear about but rarely actually find. He is deeply knowledgeable, genuinely invested, and able to meet you exactly where you are on any given day. He knows when to push and when to pull back. He coached me back from injury with patience and skill, adjusted around surgery, and somehow always seemed to know when I needed a tougher session or a lighter one. His expertise is the real deal, but what sets him apart is that he cares. You feel it in every workout.
And then there's the community, which is something I genuinely can't say enough about. From the very first day, Westside felt warm and welcoming, with no posturing, no intimidation, just people happy to see each other and happy to see you. The energy is infectious. There's laughter, there's encouragement, there are inside jokes and shared playlists and that rare feeling of belonging that you can't manufacture. Good vibes, always. Even on my worst days, walking through those doors meant being greeted, seen, and lifted up by people who had no idea how much they were doing for me just by being themselves.
I am so grateful to Matt and to everyone at Westside. They didn't just train me; they got me through. This place is special, truly special, and I will recommend it to anyone who will listen.
