My experience at this location was awful. I walked in and no one greeted me, so I walked over to an employee and asked for help. I told her that I hadn't worn sunglasses in years and needed help finding a pair that suited me. She responded by saying that it was all subjective opinion. That was it. She literally wasn't able to help me. Basically, instead of being an expert like I would have expected, she was able to offer zero assistance. I had to select and try on sunglasses randomly without knowing what I was looking for as a result. When I found a pair that I liked, another employee offered me two sizes - small and large. I asked if there were only two sizes and she said yes. It was puzzling trying on the small and the large sizes, since neither fit me correctly. I later found out that size medium exists, and that store just didn't have them. When I went to make a purchase, I overheard the first employee telling a customer that her sunglasses fit her face perfectly, and that some frames were just made for a person's face. I found that to be a total contradiction, since she told me minutes earlier that she couldn't help me find sunglasses that fit my face well. Fortunately, I didn't purchase the sunglasses, because I realized that they were Meta sunglasses when I saw the price. I never mentioned anything about wanting Meta sunglasses. When I left that location, I drove to a different location which was excellent. The employees at the other location greeted me immediately, helped me to find a style, and even told me my size - medium (not small or large).

LensCrafters has a newer location and a fine varying selection of really nice eyeglasses in the Connecticut Post Mall. The sales Reps are very knowledgeable and quite friendly. They made the choice of purchasing a new pair of glasses by narrowing the selections so one wouldn't be so overwhelmed by the vast amount of possibilities. They did a really nice effort of making the overall ordeal fulfilling.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
