Appalling Customer Service - Feel bad for other customers
I called a week ago to make an appointment, after confirming they were in my network.
From the the moment I arrived today, the receptionist was an absolute nightmare. Long before I even reached the desk, her attitude and tone towards everyone in the lobby was condescending, frazzled, and completely rude.
When it was my turn, I already knew she was going to be a problem. When I presented my insurance card, she immediately went on the passive-aggressive attack. "We don't accept your insurance, in fact, we called to confirm...and you never called us back...so I don't know what to tell you." Complete BS. I received a call confirming the appointment...and that was it. Moreover, my insurance is listed on THEIR website. The worst part was her smug, proud expression after the exchange; she clearly took pleasure in being difficult and couldn't care less that she entirely ruined a patient's day.
Look, mistakes happen and insurance mix-ups can be sorted out. What is not okay is a receptionist who has a misplaced sense of entitlement, who can treat patients so poorly without a shred of hesitation or a single second thought. This attitude is clearly second nature to her. This kind of toxic behavior is completely unnecessary, deeply unpleasant for patients, and ultimately a massive disservice to the optometrist's business.

They did absolutely amazing! I came in to get my glasses fixed after getting rejected at another optometrist and not only did they fix my glasses, but they fixed them FOR FREE and under 20 minutes!

Came in to have my glasses tightened because they keep sliding down my nose and even though I did not buy the glasses there, the lady was willing to help heat them up and form them so they fit my face better. Thank you!

Very very helpful staff!! My husband broke his glasses and they did not have the frames but called 3 different lenscrafters with no luck. They remembered there was an actual Oakley store in the outlet mall and called them and they had them!! Just great people there at Lenscrafters!!!

Like many of the other low ratings for this location - I have experienced uncomfortable situations with Dr. Swindell. (The folks on the Lens Crafters side were wonderful so a 1 star didn’t feel appropriate). Today was my second chance for them and I left feeling so uncomfortable due to the shame inducing tone he addressed me with when he asked why I didn’t go to a doctor more often (none of your business quite frankly). He then told me he wasn’t charging me for the exam, eyed me up and down and told me to use the money to get a physical. This is the second visit he’s made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. I will definitely be seeking out a new optometrist.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
