What Is Direct Primary Care? Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a practice model in which patients pay their provider directly via a periodic membership fee for a defined set of primary care services. Insurance and HSA funds are not processed by the practice. Big Life DPC is unique in the DPC world in that it offers multiple specialty care services in our DPC model as well - including Functional Medicine, Neurofeedback, IV Hydration and more - either as part of the membership fee or at greatly reduced rates for members. What Are the Benefits of DPC? DPC prioritizes the relationship between a patient and provider to improve health outcomes and lower overall healthcare costs. Providers are free to spend more time with patients because they are not bound by insurance reimbursement restrictions, hospital interests, or big pharma preferences. More and more patients and employer networks are turning to DPC to improve health outcomes and ensure provider sustainability. What Makes the Direct Primary Care Experience Different? Smaller patient panels allow more time with your provider. Real relationships flourish and you have access to care when you need it most, including after hours and on weekends. Funds are directed to achieve wellness and long-term cures rather than band aid solutions or corporate executive salaries. Better, more personalized care is available at highly reasonable rates. You actually know your medical team and they know you. Providers and patients are free from financial pressures from upstream interests like hospital systems and pharmaceutical companies who thrive on Primary Care Provider referrals. We won't refer you anywhere else unless we have to. No more having to create unnecessary appointments for simple things like medication refills and form signing. Big Life offers so much more than just primary care. We also specialize in Functional Medicine, Neurofeedback and Neurostimulation, Nutrition and IV Hydration. Our patients are far more likely to stay out of Urgent Care or the ER, because we offer 24 hour access to our medical team. How Much Does DPC Cost? Big Life's Direct Primary Care is available to children and adults at the following rates, with households enjoying additional savings. Big Life cares for men, women, and children. $125 / month / 1 adult $250 / month / 2 adults Children under 25 are cared for at a rate of $30 / month with two adult DPC patients. $225 / month / 1 adult + 1 child Additional children under 25 are cared for at a rate of $30 / month with 1 adult + 1 child DPC patient. $100 / month / 0-17 child (no adult) Patients may elect to pay in monthly or annual installments. 10% savings available for those who elect to pay in annual installments. A Registration Fee will be collected at time of sign up in the amount of $65 / patient. 30-day written notice is required to cancel your DPC membership, but there is no fee to cancel. You are welcome to withdraw at any time after your first three months in our practice. However, a 12-month waiting period is required to re-enroll in Big Life DPC. Big Life works hard to include as many of our services in the DPC membership as possible, but some specialty services or extraordinary labs may incur additional fees. These fees have been greatly reduced for DPC members. Is DPC a Good Model for Patients with High Deductible Health Insurance Plans? Absolutely. HDHPs often require participants to pay out-of-pocket for any non-preventative healthcare needs, making DPC's low, periodic fee well-suited to ensure your health is prioritized without allowing unforeseen costs to break the bank. What Do Patients Like Best about DPC Care at Big Life? Direct-to-provider access when you need it, even after hours and on weekends. Same-day or next-day appointments available. Longer and more comprehensive appointments. Telemedicine visits for convenience. More specialties under one roof. Transparent, affordable pricing. Return to relationship with your doctor and the Big Life medical staff. Be personally known. What If I Want to Cancel My DPC Membership at Big Life? We make it easy to cancel your DPC membership, as you can do so at any time after your first three months, without worrying about unnecessary fees or headache. You must simply supply written notice 30 days in advance of the time you'd like to cancel. There is no cost to withdraw. However, registration fees are non-refundable and patients must wait 12 months before electing to reenroll in DPC membership at Big Life after cancelling. Patients who withdraw from Big Life DPC may still take advantage of non-primary care services at Big Life.

Neurofeedback uses the brain's own waves with a feedback loop to create pathways. Does Either Therapy Hurt? Absolutely not. At most, you might experience a slight tingle or tapping. Do I Have to Be a DPC Patient of Big Life to Receive Neuro Therapy? No removal of clothing or insertion of needles are necessary. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy What Is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy? Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, or BHRT, is a form of hormone therapy that has existed in the U.S. for many decades and uses hormones that are structurally similar to those found within the human body. What Is the Potential Advantage of Bioidentical Hormones? Bioidentical hormones, such as the ones used by Biote, work with the body’s chemistry because they closely replicate the molecular structure of the hormones that normally occur within the body. What Is Pellet Therapy? Biote Certified Providers receive training on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy in the form of subcutaneous pellets. These pellets are inserted into the upper buttocks area during an in-office visit after testing is done to determine the exact quantity of the hormone the patient requires. Every dose is customized based on a consultation and extensive lab work to ensure a patient receives the exact concentration of hormones needed. Bioidentical hormones, such as the ones used in training by Biote, work with the chemistry of the body because they replicate the molecular structure of the hormones that normally occur within the body. Is There More Than One Type of Pellet? Yes, there are two major pellet therapy types: estrogen pellets and testosterone pellets. What Is Estrogen? Estrogen is a hormone that possesses many functions and occurs in the bodies of both men and women. In women, estrogen is commonly associated with reproduction—it prompts the menstrual cycle and develops the female body’s secondary sex characteristics. However, in both sexes, estrogen is responsible for many facets of bone health, cholesterol metabolism, and the thickness and collagen content of the skin. What Are Estrogen Pellets? Estrogen pellets are small cylinders that are custom compounded and composed of estradiol, a form of estrogen. Estrogen pellets may relieve emotional, reproductive, and non-reproductive symptoms. The most common administration for estrogen pellets is to help address the uncomfortable symptoms of aging in women.

What Is Functional Medicine? Functional Medicine is a systems based, root cause analysis of the whole person. It is anchored in science to address the fundamental question: how do I live my best life to avoid, prevent, or holistically treat disease? Functional Medicine focuses on the provider/patient therapeutic partnership, fostering a healing relationship in which the patient actively participates in their care. What Are the Benefits? Functional Medicine is a field known to affect positive results when patients who suffer from chronic illness, pain, and disease and "nothing else" has worked, seek help. We offer hope when you've almost given up. Why? It is truly mind-body-spirit medicine that seeks clues to ailments that might even stem from incidents in your childhood. For instance, did you grow up near a chemical production plant and are only now experiencing the effects of contaminated water systems? The key is time. Time for your provider to actually get to know you and listen to your comprehensive medical history and run more thorough diagnostics. Only then can we begin to seek treatment. What Does the Functional Medicine Program Entail? Functional Medicine at Big Life begins with a thorough intake and investigation of not only your medical history but also your mental, emotional, and spiritual health triggers. It includes a nutritional physical exam where the mouth, skin, hair, and nails are evaluated through a Functional lens to identify nutritional deficiencies that can be difficult to detect by laboratory analysis alone. The goal with Functional Medicine is to allow the body to heal itself by adjusting the diet using high-quality supplements, IV nutrition, and sometimes pharmaceuticals to improve quality of life and treat the root cause of disease. Testing includes conventional lab testing along with Functional lab testing, for example comprehensive GI panels, SIBO testing, Dutch testing/hormone metabolite testing, cortisol salivary testing, toxin evaluation, and genetic evaluation. Is Big Life Certified with the Institute for Functional Medicine? Yes! Anyone can offer Functional Medicine, but only a select few providers have gone through the additional coursework and certification process available at the Institute for Functional Medicine. All Big Life Functional Medicine providers have achieved this sought offer medical distinction. Is Functional Medicine Included in my Direct Primary Care costs? Big Life's DPC model offers comprehensive medical care for you and your family, and our providers do take a holistic approach when treating our DPC patients. Some patients, however, deserve a true deep dive to help relieve chronic stubborn pain and disease. Other patients want an intimate analysis of their health in order to formulate proactive healthy aging strategies and habits. For those, we recommend Functional Medicine. Any patient, DPC or non-DPC member, can seek Functional Medicine treatment at Big Life. While the Functional Medicine fees are not included in the DPC membership, DPC patients DO receive 15% off any Functional Medicine fees. How Much Does Functional Medicine Treatment Cost? Choose the Visit Package that works best for you. 1 Visit = $550 3 Pack = $1,500 Please inquire for special pricing if you are seeking to continue Functional Medicine treatment with one of our providers and following them from another clinic. (Treatment in progress within the last 6 months.) All Big Life DPC patients who are up-to-date with membership fees receive 15% off listed FM rates. Are Functional Medicine Labs Included in the Visit Package Pricing? No. Functional Medicine lab panels are additional costs of the program. However, Big Life offers discounted rates on all lab fees. Are Functional Medicine Nutritional Supplements Included in the "Visit Package" Pricing? No. Supplements recommended as part of your Functional Medicine treatment will be offered from our clinic or our online pharmacy for an additional charge. Big Life works to keep these costs as low as possible for our patients. Will Functional Medicine Labs Be Drawn In House? As many as possible, yes. Some lab panels, however, require special processing and will be referred to your local Labcorp. Patients can use their insurance for all labs drawn at Labcorp. What Can I Expect as a Big Life Functional Med Patient? We look forward to listening and learning about your story and developing a personalized care plan unique to you. Every patient is different and every person's story is unique. We hope to better understand those differences and look to evaluate and treat from a holistic perspective to allow you to live your best life, the life you were made for. You were made for this.

The most common administration for estrogen pellets is to help address the uncomfortable symptoms of aging in women. What Happens During the In Office Insertion? During the in-office visit, which only takes a few minutes, patients are brought into the exam room, and the insertion site is numbed. The most common site of insertion is the upper buttocks. A small incision is then made for pellet insertion. Once the pellet is inserted, the insertion site is covered with a small bandage. What Happens to Pellets After Insertion? Since pellets are bioidentical and contain hormones like those our body produces, pellets are completely dissolved and absorbed, leaving nothing behind. What Happens in the Weeks Following Insertion? After pellet insertion, it’s best to abstain from lower body exercise. Walking should be fine, but strenuous activity is not recommended. Avoid bathtubs, swimming and hot tubs ; however, showers are permitted. After removal of the bandage, normal activity may resume. How Often Is Pellet Insertion Necessary? As each patient’s symptoms are unique, so is each patient’s path to hormone optimization. The Biote Method is customized to fit a patient’s specific needs. What Is Testosterone? Testosterone is a hormone normally found in both men and women that is responsible for many critical body processes. Testosterone is produced in the testes and ovaries, and deficiencies can occur in men and women as the body ages. What Are Testosterone Pellets? Testosterone pellets are composed of powdered testosterone fused into a pellet using stearic acid as a binding agent. The compounding pharmacies used by Biote provide high-quality pellets with ingredients that are meticulously tested. This testing process gives pharmacists, Biote Certified Providers, and patients confidence in the pellets’ quality. What Health Concerns May Testosterone Pellets Relieve? Testosterone has been shown to relieve a wide range of reproductive, emotional, and non-reproductive conditions. Some of these include low energy, sexual dysfunction, mood swings, irritability, and many others.* What Happens When Pellet Therapy Is Discontinued? Every person’s body is different, but at the end of a pellet cycle or when stopping pellet therapy altogether, symptoms of fatigue, low mood and sleeplessness may recur. Typically, the patient’s symptoms will return to the same state prior to BHRT as their estrogen and testosterone levels begin to drop. What Are the Signs of Hormone Inbalance in Women? Fatigue Trouble sleeping Irritability Anxiousness Mood swings Low mood Night sweats Hot flashes or flushes Weight gain Decreased sex drive Discomfort during intercourse

What Is IV Hydration? IV Hydration is fluid and nutrient administration intravenously through an IV catheter to replenish or provide optimal levels of vitamins and minerals, allowing your body to heal, detoxify, and function at its maximum capacity. What Are the Benefits? 100% bioavailability! Supplements taken orally have to pass through the gut, only giving you a fraction of absorption, and even less if you have gut or inflammatory issues. IV administration gets those nutrients straight to the source and can help your body heal and recover from the inside out. What is the Goal of IV Hydration? Our goal is to help you life your biggest, best life. That means feeling good. When your body has the nutrients it needs for optimal performance, optimal healing, and maximum energy - you have the best chance of living a life of purpose and meaning. What's the Difference between Hydration and Nutrient Therapy? They can sometimes be one and the same and sometimes quite different. Hydration therapy is the replacement of fluid through administration into your veins. The bag of fluid can contain vitamins and minerals, or those nutrients can be administered separately (meaning not diluted in the fluid) - such as through a shot or pushed through an IV catheter. Administration depends on which nutrients are being given and how much fluid is needed in order to provide safe and effective administration. What is Glutathione? Glutathione is the master detoxifier! It is a peptide derived from amino acids in your body. It is an incredible antioxidant. Found in every cell in the body but mostly concentrated in your liver, glutathione is crucial to breaking down free radicals, decreasing, inflammation, and removing toxins from cells. Cells lacking glutathione are at risk for damage due to oxidative stress. HYDRATION IS HEALING. How Is Big Life's IV Hydration Different than the Standard IV Bar? Knowledge. On-site supervision from our medical providers. Loaded. We offer more nutrients in every bag than anywhere else. Quality. We offer preservative-free nutrient options because we don't want your body to have any more barriers to wellness. There are preservatives in your food, household products, environment, etc. You don't need them in your veins. Outcomes. We want our patients to feel better when they leave our office. Our providers formulate personalized nutrient pushes that give your cells better nutrition by not diluting our IV supplements. Our patients feel more effects more quickly. What is NAD+ ? Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide is a cellular transport molecule found in every cell of the body and is essential for cell life and cell function, including DNA and mitochondrial protection. NAD+ is popularly referred to as an anti-aging molecule because its presence is highest in babies and decreases as we age. It is said to help healing at a cellular and DNA level. NAD+ is continually made and recycled in the cells but is often depleted due to DNA damage, mitochondrial dysfunction, and age-related illnesses and diseases. Lower levels of NAD+ have been found in people with comorbidities that involve free radicals and oxidative stress, including diabetes, heart disease, vascular disease, and Alzheimer's. Many studies are underway to asses the benefits of NAD+, but it is suggested that NAD+ therapy may encourage optimal mitochondrial function and homeostasis, genomic stability, neuroprotection, long life, and may even help with addition treatment. Big Life is proud to offer NAD+ treatments. It is a longer infusion, with the first dose often infused over 2-4 hours. How Much Does IV Hydration Cost? All Big Life patients of other therapies (including DPC, Functional Medicine, Neurofeedback, etc.) receive 15% off all IV therapies. As our IV nutrients are overseen and administered by on-side medical providers and nurses, we never ask our patients to tip. This results in additional significant savings as compared to other IV bars. Preservative Free Options Available Are Drop-Ins Welcome for IV Hydration? Absolutely! Although appointments guarantee prompt service, we understand that sometimes you just need to get your drip when you need it most - now. Please feel free to stop by at any time between the hours of 9:00 - 5:30, Monday - Friday.
